Not a big deal to me, but I think the administrators got it right. Otherwise, what about Hindu, Native American holidays, Buddhist, whicken, or the church of happy days.

Best to let the kids out of school during times there would be mass absenteeism (winter holiday) and let the families dictate how the kids should worship or spend their time.

Same here. I don't feel my faith is threated by a school district calling it "winter break".

THat said, when there are 1.9 billion Wiccan in the world, or a large population of HappyDays-ers (Happy Day-era?) in a school district (like in Montgomery Co., and like the Jewish population in/around Baltimore) it doesn't seem unreasonable.

Personally I wouldnt have a problem with any naming issue, but I do draw the line at requiring action, like having to sing Christmas or Chaunaka songs. Those I don't think belong in public school at all, even if every family is a specific religion.
