Masoli to be charged with theft

None of the players Chip recruited will show up until next year correct?

Then you woke up from your utopian fantasy viewpoint of college football, realized that it's a business and that winning equals money, and realize that every player with starting ability will get a slap on the wrist, be back on the field, and you and I will be cheering their names on Saturday like nothing ever happened. University of Florida players have been arrested 17 times in the last 5 years. Urban Meyer doesn't have a problem, because he has championship rings. It's that simple, and if you think it's any different, pull your head out.

Yes I know they are a business, which is why they have no place in schools. They not only don't educate, they are an impediment to it and an excuse to get around it.

I don't follow college sports, nor do I support their existence. I never have.

They are an albatross on the neck of our system of higher education, and a costly influence causing inequities in our K-12 system also.

Masoli pleads guilty to misdeamoner theft(or burgarly not exactly sure)

Hm he might play this year

Darron Thomas time.

How convenient. The Ducks make it to the Rose Bowl...and all of a sudden, every player on the team is getting accused of something.

Of course, only the cynical and paranoid would suspect that this was a campaign to destroy the program. Stuff like that neeeeever happens.

Please. I went to college in the 70s. Do you think the world was a more law-abiding place back then? At the least, drug use was more rampant then it is now.

Back then, the team sucked on the field....and nobody cared if the players were little angels. They were treated like any other random bunch of college kids. Now that the team is good, suddenly everyone is all over the program with a microscope. Back then, jocks got busted for drugs, and fans at other schools never said one word. Now, the sanctimonious gloating is everywhere.

The name Stu Jackson ring a bell? He got kicked off the Duck basketball team - not just for having/doing drugs, but for supplying them to a younger team-mate. Today, he is the vice president of the NBA. Don't try to tell me there is no double standard at work here. If the Ducks were still cellar-dwellers, these stories wouldn't attract any attention.
