Mass Effect/Mass Effect 2 [spoilers]

So, I know I'm really, really late to the party on this one, but I'm just now playing this game, and I must say, it's phenomenal. I can't believe I waited over 2 years to play it. The story is as good as any story ever told in a video game, and I can't wait to get to the end of it and dig my hands in to the sequel on Tuesday.

I enjoyed it but I thought it borrowed a lot from KOTOR that came before it... basically everything is translatable (ex. biotics = force powers, spartan = jedi, etc.).

I'm glad BioWare did the sequel rather than hand it over to Obsidian.

Since there are no games out that I can play, I have an easy term at UO, I've been looking for a good 360 game to get into. I remember I played ME1 for a little then stopped as some other game came out, but I've been thinking of playing #1 so I can transfer my player to ME2, I'm renting the game tomorrow any ideas/suggestions on how to make my Shepard?

I'm playing as a Vanguard and love it. You get a guy can be trained in pistols and shotguns and then also get a good chunk of Biotic powers. Can't go wrong there.

Mass Effect was awesome. Times like this I wish I still had my 360. I would be all over Mass Effect 2.

I've been looking around, so if I am a soldier my first time through, get the AR acheivement, I can then use the AR if I chose to be a Vanguard in ME2?

Your stats start over, you can pick a different class, but it keeps your story from MEI.

And speaking of this game, I'm not sure if anyone else knows, but it's two discs. That means this game is going to be gigantic, which makes me happy. If the story is anywhere near as good as the first has been, I'm not going to want it to end, and that's currently how I feel about the first one. I haven't been this deeply engaged in a story since playing Fallout 3. The game and story are so good that I really don't want it to end.

Yeah, the two disk thing it pretty cool. They made it in a convenient time to switch to disk 2 as well. Im excited for the 'Cerberus Network'. This network is a DLC shop, like what was in Dragon Age(made by the some company) where you can download free DLC, large missions, vehicles, weapons, characters, you name it. A Human Bounty Hunter named Zaeed Messani will be a free DLC on day 1. As well as the Hammerhead hovertank. No more Macko btw.

Two discs? Strange. Hopefully one just downloads onto the HDD so you don't have to swap.

Nope.. Unless you want to download it yourself... Your not going to switch it in a middle of a mission. At least thats what Bioware said.

Because when you download to the 360, you're not really downloading the game, just load points so it doesn't take as long during load screens.

Yeah, not many reviews for the game out so far but the few that are have been glowing. Similar to AC2 where everyone seems to be saying they built on a great game by improving the faults and accentuating the positive.

Martin Sheen is a show stealer, apparently.

Anybody have Dragon's Age: Origins? I guess you get a free armour for ME2 if you have both.

I'm scrambling to finish DAO so I can get on to ME2.

I just finished Mass Effect. Wow, what a game. I don't think I can say enough good things about it. Now, time to start up Mass Effect 2.

Mass Effect 2 is out, I havnt beaten my current playthrough for Mass Effect, my ME2 is in Kentucky on pre-order and I have to do a shit load of work this week.. Maybe I'll play ME2 this weekend?

I've already logged a couple hours in ME2, and I love it so far. The combat has been improved upon, though it takes some time getting used to.

When I start that game, I'll lose my life for a while.. xD Sad isnt it? Lol... Still gotta beat my playthrough on ME. Almost done though. Tomorrow it CAN be finished.

Man, Mass Effect 2 is absolutely phenomenal. The voice acting, action, everything about is great. I can't get enough of it.

Speaking of action, now that I'm getting used to it, it's wonderful. It's more streamlined than Mass Effect, so you don't need to be constantly pulling up menus to use Biotics or switch weapons (though, since I'm so accustomed to doing this, I still find myself doing it constantly). There's also A LOT of action, at least early in the game, moreso than the first (which I don't think is a bad thing).

I was able to play through the first hour or so today. The game starts pretty fast. I'm sure it is going to be good.

Opening safes is easy but decoding encrypted files (or w/e it is) is a little confusing for me at the moment.

I like the new hacking and stuff like that. More minigames for us. Im supposed to be doing Math homework, but Im here talking about Mass Effect 2.. Which I gave to my mom so I could do my Math... Look how that turned out.

I also really like the hacking mini-game, far better than the timed button presses of the first one.
