“If you have an Oregon driver’s license, ID, driver’s permit you can assume that data associated with that credential has been compromised,” Amy Joyce, ODOT’s DMV Administrator, said. “It could include things beyond what’s printed on the card itself.”
They probably should. Can we bring a class action lawsuit against an administrative department of the state? The DMV should have to issue new licenses and IDs to everyone with new information.

Good start, but it does nothing for your Social Security number.
Dude, there have been so many breaches over the years. I'm sure my SSN is out there already. That Equifax hack?
True.
Issuing new licenses would be fun. Can you imagine the lines at the ever efficient DMV offices?
Might as well just send out new ones with new numbers to everyone. No lines necessary.
I doubt that would meet the TSA's Real ID requirements.
And new social security numbers...The DMV should have to issue new licenses and IDs to everyone with new information.
Our reliance on lobbyists to inform our political leaders instead of having boards of technical advisors who actually know something about these things and have the best interests of society as their highest priority.Damn....Who is responsible for this?
Thats the problem with big gov that is driven by lobbyist. I agree 100% that there should be committees of tech advisors. Or contract out to private company that have the expertise to manage and stay current. Our reliance on lobbyists to inform our political leaders instead of having boards of technical advisors who actually know something about these things and have the best interests of society as their highest priority.
This is what homeland security should be making sure can't happen. These systems should be easy to use, efficient, and virtually impenetrable.
But our leaders count on lobbyists to help them figure this out. And we wonder why we have lawsuits with companies like Oracle...

It would have to be a private company that was reasonable and efficient. I do appreciate your concern and feedback.Private companies charge the most to do the least. They view government contracts as free money scams.
Source: I worked for an internet contractor with several Oregon school district contracts. My uncle was also a defense contractor.
I'm biased, but only because I experienced it firsthand.
I think it should be diplomats who deeply love the country and have only the highest ethical standards. It would have to be a private company that was reasonable and efficient. I do appreciate your concern and feedback.
To me, it's about good management regardless if government or private sector. There is plenty of room to clean up in-efficiency and bad management in government and private sector.
I don't think that's how it works.I was able to fly home yesterday, so I guess they didn’t get my info!
