NBA will announce tomorrow that box scores with video links will be available to all fans on http://nba.com. For example: If LeBron is 10-of-16 from the floor, fans can click on that "16," and see a video reel of all 16 LeBron shots. There will be similar clickable video for assists, turnovers, steals, rebounds, but NOT fouls. Archive will include last season, too. The NBA's (very) long-term goal is to make available online as much of its historical video archive as possible. Again: very long-term.

I'm guessing all of this was on Synergy already. Bout time they stepped it up.

NBA.com has always taken way too long to load, compared to other NBA sites. This goes back to the late 1990s, when I first checked it. This increases the visits for less artsy, less graphic sites like ESPN.

Well when you're on that old wrinkled "dial up" connection, of course it loads slow. Most of us have decent computers and great DSL or Cable connections. I have no trouble...

You can also click on 3FGM for example and not only see a video but also see a specific shot chart for Batum's 3PFG for that game. Very cool

So I just tested this out and ... free. Pretty cool.

Click on each category in the box score and it will have a separate video for each stat

http://stats.nba.com/gameDetail.html?GameID=0021300210

IE click on Lillard's "6" in the assists and it will have 6 separate videos for his assists.

HOLY SHIT, they're all in like 720 or 1080p as well! I was watching Robin Lopez rebounds, and they're like a minute of play each.

You can click on the "84 FG attempts" and see EVERY Blazer FG attempt in the game in High Resolution, for free!

I mean you can basically see a half replay, for free. in HD. I'm nervous they will remove this capability soon.

AND it's retroactive. So you cna go back and watch the Spurs game, for instance, and see every Portland Field Goal Attempt!!!

They have video for the 2012 season, but not before, posted. But they have individual shot charts, by game, like the one Boise has shown below, going back to the 1996 season.

Interesting where our 3's come from. I have to think that is by design. Shotchart_1385487421739.jpg

Okay, listen up. I think that once someone notices this huge loophole about replaying every FGA on each team, they might shut that down. I don't want to see any of you Jabronis posting this on Reddit or it's ilk. As far as I can tell, it's gone unnoticed there.

But.. the KARMA!

I just used NBA.com's search for Terry Stotts and it was super-slow because it insisted on taking me straight to videos, not articles. For years, its designers have favored graphics over substance. I rarely go there because it's slow as molasses.

This has gotta make the Pinwheelempire's of the world's lifes easier and the rest of us happier.

Not to be dense, but how do you find individual games?

(This is going to be a MASSIVE timesuck...)
