I like that he is back. Plus could be used as salary filler for a trade. Also fits the defense mindset the team wants to build on and make it our identity.

Why do you care so much about a guy who makes up 7.5% of the salary cap?
I don't "care so much".... I just don't think it was a good move. There's dozens of good and bad things the team has done that are more impactful.

I can understand that. Aren't you the one who said he doesn't watch any of the games?

Yes. And i still forgot he was on the team.

Saving me time AND brain power. Doing things right, thanks for noticing!

So you'd rather overpay some other 8th man with the FMLE? We're not in the tax because of his contract. We're not approach any apron. Him being on this deal makes literally no difference except we could use his expiring salary in a trade.
I'd rather use the MLE to take on salary and get a pick like the Nets did today. Or like the Spurs did last year. Or the Thunder prior. Etc etc etc. Never saw the Blazers make those smart moves.

We had to send out multiple picks in the Deni trade partially because we handed out so many stupid contracts. Needing to cut salary has been a consistent theme of Blazers trades since Cronin started. Nurk/Ayton/Grant/Ant/Thybulle/etc. many of those were worse than Thybulle but his contract was a bad move as well.

I wish our GM had done a better rebuild like the Thunder, Rockets, Pacers, Magic, etc did.

Thybulle was far from one of our worst moves. It still was a mistake. Him opting in proves he's overpaid.

We will see if he gets traded. Maybe the team that wants him (and Vice Versa) can't afford to sign him as an FA but wants to trade for him? Or maybe he just actually likes it in Portland. But I doubt his opting in proves anything.

Him opting in doesnt prove anything. He seems to be a real down to earth guy. Maybe didn't want to take a chance based on not playing and doesn't care to bet on himself.
He may very well think he is worth more but doesn't care to take the risk to find out.

Maybe he doesn't/didn't want to live in the Toilet town of Texas.
