Interesting....The Mavericks in 2011 were a Third Seed, both teams were led By One super star ,All star player. Both teams Lost their third best player due to season ending injury, in mid season, nobody gave the Mavericks a shot to win it, and Terry scotts was assistant coach for Mavericks.

Thoughts on repeating history

The two-time defending champs from California were thought by many to be shoo-ins to win a third straight title.

The 6th-seed NW division team thought they had a great matchup, only to go down in defeat.

The league's best record belongs to the East's top-seed, led by a young first-time MVP who still has much to prove in the playoffs.

This is kind of a fun game

I mean the championship is basically a lock at this point

And a year later, Lillard came into the league. All this time I thought he was the reincarnation of Roy ['s knees], being a 4-year college guy drafted 6th, but maybe he was the afterlife championship companion of Stotts?

I've been thinking this for awhile. And it's not just us. Andrew Sharpe of the SI's Open Floor podcast said the same thing. Dame is reminding me a lot of 2011 Dirk.

The guys on NBATV just mentioned how they see Damian as this years 2011 Dirk.
