Curious how the people on here who think we will win 50 games and have HCA in the playoffs this season think this fight will go? If you apply the same common sense and logic to this, Conner will knock out Floyd and win right?
Would you like to explain how using the team's performance over last season's 20 games with Nurkic to extrapolate a prediction for this coming season's 82 games with Nurkic is even remotely the same "common sense and logic" as expecting someone who's never boxed professionally to knock out the most successful boxer of our generation?

I want McGregor to win this. Mayweather is a punk. Plus I'm Irish. I think Floyd is going to try and tire out McGregor, and pound his gut. McGregor has to come out, land his punches and land them hard and take out Mayweather. The longer the match the more in mayweathers favor it is.

I believe that you have the right of it. The biggest disadvantage Conor has is the style of fighting will take him out of his flow. He is going to have to think too much, rather than react.

Still want Coner to beat down the punk in the first round.

I've decided I'm gonna rent this fight. Wasn't gonna, but im not gonna be the only one to not see it, haha.

I have room for three more bodies sitting comfortably if anyone wants to watch it. Pool will be open and I will be bbqing up some hamburgers.
Just shoot me a PM if you would like to head over.

There are no "dancing monkeys" in Rocky III.

If I didn't already have an in, I'd be all over that.

You'll have a better time at OB's
You're probably right, but I'm also my buddy's ticket to the watch party. Plus I'm curious to see what it's like to watch a big event like this in a sports bar. I've never done so before.

Mayweather tried to manipulate that (and every time Conor said the word "boy") into Conor being some sort of a racist. I just find it funny considering who mayweather is as a person, nevermind that he also called mcgregor a faggot on stage at one of the press conferences. Scum.

Who would beat his ass? In a real fight Conor would murk them. Of course they would have a punchers chance, but come on. In a real fight Conor would wipe the floor with these dudes.

"in a real fight"?

We're talking a boxing match. You know, the one he's gonna lose tomorrow. But hey if you get 150MM are you really losing?

Oscar De La Hoya???? C'mon bruh... but besides him:

Manny Pacquiao
Saul Alvarez
Miguel Cotto
Victor Ortiz
Shane Mosley
Juan Manuel Marquez
Ricky Hatton
Zab Judah
Arturo Gatti
Sharmba Mitchell would WHOOP Conor's ass.

I won't go through the whole list but these are just a few of the 49 who lost to Floyd who would Smash Conor in a boxing match.

I'm not disagreeing that those people would beat conor in a pure boxing match. You had just stated some of the people Floyd fought would beat his ass. The lines have been blurred in this thread on if we are talking a real fight or boxing.

In boxing I agree. He seemed to do pretty well sparring against an out of shape former champion paulie malignaggi though.

I mean, when we are talking about boxing vs mma.... i think everyone would rather be good at being trained in mma and being able to whoop peoples asses in a real fight.

Which makes more money? I honestly don't know now, but I imagine when these guys got into boxing, it was much more lucrative at the top end. If that changes, the Mayweathers and Mosleys, etc, of the future may choose to spend their lives training in MMA. Otherwise, boxing will probably still be preferred.

No they haven't. This is the fight thread for the boxing match.

Boxing is WAY faster than what he's used to and he's never gone up against such defense. If he wants to win, Conor should stay in MMA as he will be out of his element boxing.
Buuuuuuut I feel him. He wants to get paid and he basically talked enough shit to get Mayweather to agree to help him get paid.

There is NO FUCKING WAY this purse should be as big as it is. But it is.

They really have, as evidenced by people talking about conor and floyd in the octagon too. So i read your beat his ass comment as being a legitimate fight. It's ok I already conceded that I misinterpreted your statement.

Boxing still does today. But I barely hear about the boxing community anymore. I don't know anyone still into boxing. I hear tons of casuals talk about mma all the time.

Ufc takes a giant cut of the revenues. They feel the ufc brand makes fighters who they are instead of the individual personalities. Boxing seems to have it right in that regard. Thats why a company like Bellator is good to have. The UFC needs some competition. They slowly seem to be evolving with the new ownership. Dana white commented conor could own a piece of the UFC. I think they are scared he quits fighting and he is one of their only cash cows (gsp is probably the only other one now with silvad decline, rouseys decline, lesnar popping and going back to wwe most of the time, and jon jones being a piece of shit human being)

Ufc seems to be more modernized and a more popular platform today. Knockouts or finishes to fights seem to be more prevalent with the 4oz gloves. Who knows though, if floyd dominated conor maybe the love for boxing comes back again.

Boxing doesn't have the names like they used to..... Tyson.... Holifield.... Oscar De La Hoya... Roy Jones Jr.... George Foreman.....

Besides Mayweather, who else is there on that level?

It's the same silliness when people say the T-wolves will win 50+ this year.
Or in previous years when people said the T-wolves were a playoff team.
Going to be enjoyable taking peoples $ when the T-wolves are under 50 games.

Mayweather is not on any of those guys level... Ok De La Hoya...though De La Hoya won that fight...that was a bullshit split decision.

De la hoya lost that fight. Not sure what fight you were watching but Oscar could barely hit Floyd in some of those rounds.

He's not on any of their level because of their weight class. But Floyd is a way better defensive fighter than any of them. As much as I love Roy Jones jr., Roy has a glass jaw.

People know his name.

There used to be so many boxers that were household names.

Who is currently boxing that is a household name?

Sooo.... I guess I'm giving the wife beater money... Watching over my buddy's spot.
