I am posting this because alot of people questioned what McInnis' attitude might be coming into New Jersey to play a limited backup role. Well it seems like Jeff has the right attitude about the situation...and I think he will be a very productive player. I think his scoring ablity will be a nice compliment to Kidd's playmaking ablity at the point..it was foce teams to make a bit of an adjustment now when defending the point guard slot, cause McInnis will be looking to be aggressive when he is in the game for Kidd and that just isnt something that guys like Vaughn, Robert Pack and most of the other backups we have had during the Kidd era, didnt bring to the table.

It was a good move by the Nets. They get an energetic player off the bench who can score and pass the ball. I thought McInnis would complain but he knows his role. Kidd can rest more in games knowing his backup was a starting pg and can handle the game by himself.

I think the attitude by both McInnis and the Nets can potentially carve out a nice sixth-man of the year award for McInnis.

I really like what I hear coming from the Nets lately. I think that the only thing that can bring them down is if, despite trying, the are unable to win. I have confidence however that the Nets will be decent in the regular season, and simply out play teams because the of the Nets' depth and resulting fresh legs.

I dont think McInnis will be the 6th man for the Nets next year...I think the first man off the bench and most important player on the bench clearly has to be Marc Jackson. With our frontcourt being so light and our two mainstays Krstic & Collins(those guys are only 20-30 minute per game players) having a history of foul trouble, Jackson will be the major part of the Nets bench next year. McInnis on the other hand has to deal with Kidd who will probably still play 30+ minutes per game. And the fact that the minutes thet may have been there for him to play a little alongside Kidd, when he first signed...are probably no longer available with the perimeter guys signed since then..so I only see about 15 minutes per game at most for him..but may end up being as little as 12-13 per game,when you include the need to play Vaughn from time to time.

^^ i see where your coming from but i think he will also back up the sg position because other than wright theres no on else exept for murray but hes more of a sf
