I just got back from Buster's BBQ in Tigard where meat is king. OMG, had a beef brisket poor boy with lots of bark and some beef ribs with BBQ beans to take home for dinner. Is there anything better than Texas BBQ? No
There is. North Carolina BBQ.

Burn the fat until it catches fire and long enough for it to blacken, brand the grill marks in a cross hatched pattern and make sure the inside part is medium rare and you're talking my favorite steak. Now, add a large russet potato baked to perfection and add butter, sour cream and chives. Now, add a quality red such as a Mondavi, Napa cabernet sauvignon or a Columbia Red Willow Valley cabernet sauvignon or a Chateau Latour or a Chateau Lafite-Rothschild and you're talking a dinner to remember. How about some Cherries Jubilee for dessert?

Okay, you talked me into it. Now, give me your address and when to be there.

Edit: ps Be sure to use natural all wood charcoal on your grill.
I use only natural charcoal, grass fed beef, and make my own ice cream. Also have cherry tree. But I don't like sour cream on potatoes. Need a garden salad.

That's Tigard BBQ, not Texas.

I'll bring my own sour cream. The homemade ice cream is a really nice touch and makes it further tortuous until I get invited.

Mrs PokerDog went to the beach for the night with my stepdaughter and granddaughter.

That leaves me at home... and I'm having a 4 meat meal.

Some of your meat spoiled and turned green.

No, that's a vegetable.

And yes, you might be thinking, hey, there's 5 meats in that picture. NY steak, chicken skewer, brat, and bacon. But the bacon doesn't really count since it was contaminated by the asparagus.

I go to an annual event called Ribfest every year. My former boss and mentor is from North Carolina is the host and let me tell you, he and his amazing wife provide quite the spread. His smoker is so big it has to be towed behind his truck.
Just bought tickets to come back to Oregon 4/19-4/22 for this event (I've been living in Florida since July). Hoping a playoff game lands on one of the days I'm there and it works out so I can see one. Either way, I'm bringing my Blazers gear and I'm going to eat a lot of meat!!!

You're taking me right?

Broasted chicken is battered and cooked in oil as well, but deep fried in a pressure cooker. It instantly locks in all the juices by immersion process cooking all sides of meat at once.
I've looked everywhere in Portland for good broasted chicken with no success. Found a couple places that serve it but not really good broasted chicken.
