That's the team I had a question mark when putting there in my head. I can see them fall, I go back and forth. I could see them at 6 more so than 4th. I think that would be my final answer, they would fall to 6

Bro, we're gonna SMASH them. That team is gonna suck without CP3 and they will have no cohesiveness IMHO. New PG = struggles on offense.

Meyers just said he would "destroy all the people behind the screens". hahaha that's us, fellas.

True enough, trouble is he doesn't get paid to destroy the fans. Let's see him destroy the opposing team's defense.

Fact, Meyers Leonard snorted a line of coke before this interview.

The new Meyers. Dude came out like fucking Leonardo Dicaprio in wolf of wall street

Holy SHIT!

Start the video again and pause it at 0:01. Look at his eyes! Lookin' a bit crazy...

[paraphrasing regarding defense] "It's not so much about schemes as effort." LOL! Yeah, Terry - pass the buck. It's the players' faults, not the design of the defense. GTFO!
He's 100% right. As a coach I could throw 5 guys out there WILLING to sacrifice everything to keep the other team from scoring and do better defensively than a great defensive coach with 5 Dame's or Melo's.

Hes either a really good actor or this is definitely a new Meyers.

His microexpressions are telling me a different story than what he is saying. It's almost like he's instantly analyzing what he's saying, and if he said it right. With the wavering of his mouth after the 2nd question, before the uncomftorable smile from not hearing a question for a few seconds... it makes me question.

Thanks doctor.

I dunno man--I dug his interview. This is the most real I've seen him. I'm starting to buy in...

If you are looking for something to buy in to then check Swanigan's interview. Meyers was like competing for Miss America knowing the questions beforehand and looking to impress while Caleb was like "Dude get on with it I have to practice and get better".

Yeah, sure. Putting maximum effort into executing a flawed strategy will not yield good results. First comes the strategy (foundation), then comes the effort and execution (house). If you don't build a solid foundation the house will fall apart.

One could have 5 man to man defenders with simple switch or no switch concept and do better

That's what I'm saying. We'd be better off if Terry scrapped his entire defensive "playbook" and just told the guys to go out and play hard. At least then our defense wouldn't be so damn predictable.

I think the west will look something like

Warriors
Spurs
OKC
Clippers
Houston
Portland
Denver
Wolves

however super optimistic me could see us as high as 5 maybe even 4 depending on how the clips perform as well as houston which I don't think will be as good as previous years. We are coming back fully healthy and IF meyers isn't just talking shit and can back it up, that's great. As well as nurk playing out of his mind. I think we click more. Especially right out of the gate, we are one of the more stable teams to start the year, the roster hasn't really changed compared to most in the west

Why are you so up on the Clippers?

Hes either a really good actor or this is definitely a new Meyers.

This interview reinforces everything we knew about Meyers.

First and foremost: Meyers entered the league with no useful training and no clue how to play in the NBA. We knew he was going to be a work in progress and it was going to take him extra years to get there. What we didn't know, was that it was going to take him 5 years to hire the right trainer and put in the right kind of work over the summer. The Blazers firing Hughes and not having Kaman around, plus his repeated injuries and shoulder surgery, really set Meyers back. There is reason to hope this summer he finally got on the right track.

It also shows that, even though I'm sure Meyers now has at least a foundational understanding of what he should be doing on the court that allows him to feel more confident, he continues to have confidence and maturity issues. If he were more confident, he wouldn't have to talk about it so much. If he were more mature, he wouldn't answer media questions with so much detail, LOL ;)

I hope the Blazers install a more Nurk-centric, inside-out offense. I further hope that they plug Meyers into that offense as the backup center. I think that would help his game a lot.

I doubt Meyers is a good actor. He's lousy at limiting himself to canned answers to media questions. He tried today: for one whole question. Then the whole effort went right out the window. He just can't help but be himself: A big sensitive kid.
