Grant seems like a disgruntled veteran even while having a starting spot.

I don't see that dynamic working well at all throughout this season. I almost wonder if it would be best for both sides to explore buyout options - it's horrible from a cap perspective though, but not sure we'll ever do anything with his contract as is.

Kind of worried Jrue might become this same situation at a point too. The Dame and Scoot injuries at least will keep that from being a problem at day1 but that could be the next ticking time bomb.

Just perplexing how the Blazers management continually collects overpaid veterans that have a self inflated ego. Hopefully with Bert Kolde leaving and the new owners coming in this changes.

Imagine if Chauncey benched him.

Lot of assumptions here.

Looks Like Jerami Grant already check out - he's ready to just collect paychecks

If Sharpe doesn’t start that means he’s not the franchise player we think he can be, or CB shouldn’t be our head coach. It’s one or the other
I think neither is true. Why would “WE” think he is a franchise player? And I think CB is the perfect coach for us.

If you’re talking about Grants contract…. Check around the league, it ain’t so bad FAMS!

I get that you are not serious, because obviously, a buyout with 3 years left would hurt the team.

We think a player should be happy no matter what when he is making all that money, but most vets in their prime are not happy with tanking. This year, it is clear that the goal is to win. Before, as he alluded to, that message was not clear. We all said the same. So we will see how he acts with Dame and Jrue there. He fills a need on this team. I am not against trading him, but I sure as hell would not reward him by buying him out. I think we will see a different player this year.

I would say if you did a poll on here Sharpe would easily be considered our best shot at being the franchise player on the current roster. If he’s not even breaking the starting lineup then he’s most likely not the franchise player since he’s not even good enough after 3 years to be a starter on the current roster. Now if Sharpe is a franchise player then he should be starting and CB is playing to the vets just because the are vets.

I can’t think of to many franchise players who didn’t start by their 3rd year[/QUOTE]

I used to think that about Sharpe, but now, I think it clearly is Deni.

If Sharpe doesn't show us consistency and improvement, I think we should at least see what packages he can get on the market around the trade deadline. Especially with his contract coming up.

Wow! #RedFlagged

Curious about who actually see my red flagged posts and heads out the discipline?
Might as well make you a moderator. That way nobody could put you on ignore and we would all see the red flags.

I agree. This bad rap Grant gets just doesn’t add up. He can guard 1-4 on the court. He can hit a 3 at will. He can create his own shot. He is a long very good defender that is seldom injured.
His contract is not bad like many on here continue to say.
If a team comes after him in trade then consider it. Until then play him and play to win.

Well, he shot 37% from the field, one of the worst on the team.
He is one of the worst rebounders for his height in the league, maybe even all time. Hence the joke someone made about him being a 2G.

Richmond thinks he'll start, because of pouty reasons.

He was awful last season, did you take the year off?

Have to agree he needs to rebound better but I doubt at this point he will change.

If the starting lineup ends up being Jrue, Jerami, Tou, Deni and Clingan then we're looking at a one guard lineup with three wings and one post. To characterize Jerami as a guard would be a little weird and the only reason someone would do that is because they want to dogmatically stick to the idea of two guards, two forwards and a center.

I still hope the starting lineup that we roll out on opening night is Jrue, Shaedon, Tou, Deni and Clingan.

Crazy to hear that Rob is still not cleared.

I still really love Shaedon. I don't think he's just passive, he might be too humble but I think he means it when he says he doesn't expect anything and wants his game to speak for itself and I think we'll see a big jump forward from him both on offense but especially on D.

Maybe the Blazers could trade for Simons. I could probably play some guard?

Just go Mad Max Master Blaster with Yang and Lillard!

@SlyPokerDog i nominate myself to be a MOD! I’ve seen some of the bitches with MOD status on here and this shouldn’t be too difficult of a division. I promise on everything there would be no bullshit threads created.

How would he ever have had a chance to be the “franchise player” when our ACTUAL “franchise player” has played in front of him his whole time here. CB is all about defense, that’s what he values. I’ve never considered him a franchise level player to be honest. I’m very content on how he has progressed.
