Well, he shot 37% from the field, one of the worst on the team.
He is one of the worst rebounders for his height in the league, maybe even all time. Hence the joke someone made about him being a 2G.

Richmond thinks he'll start, because of pouty reasons.
Who is Richmond?

My son was sitting next to Ben Simmons at a restaurant at lunch today in Venice Beach. Chatted him up for awhile he said. Simmons told him he’d end up , “playing in LA” this season. Hmmmmm

Sorry, saw Simons above and thought he was talking Simmons.

Is this 2 threads together? What the hell?

I would say if you did a poll on here Sharpe would easily be considered our best shot at being the franchise player on the current roster. If he’s not even breaking the starting lineup then he’s most likely not the franchise player since he’s not even good enough after 3 years to be a starter on the current roster. Now if Sharpe is a franchise player then he should be starting and CB is playing to the vets just because the are vets.

I can’t think of to many franchise players who didn’t start by their 3rd year
He started most of his games last season and has started 92 overall. Kobe only started 57 games in his first three seasons. One of those seasons was lockout year, but even if there was no lockout, he wouldn’t have started as much as Shaedon. Also- Shaedon was yanked from games in 2023 to help tank. Others:

Jermaine O’Neal: 1
Steve Nash: 51

Drexler only started 107 games.

I used to think that about Sharpe, but now, I think it clearly is Deni.

If Sharpe doesn't show us consistency and improvement, I think we should at least see what packages he can get on the market around the trade deadline. Especially with his contract coming up.
He has shown improvement. Scoring has increased each year and last year with less minutes than the year before. Relax. This is what developing a superstar who didn’t play in college looks like.

Best of luck to your son playing in LA this season.

When asked Monday if he thought he’d be back in Portland for another season, Grant couldn’t help but smile.

“Probably not,” he said. “I definitely didn’t. But I’m happy that I’m here right now. The way the team is structured and everything, the changes that were made, I think it’s beneficial for me and for our team.”

And what about Sharpe? Does the fourth-year shooting guard expect to be a starter?

“I don’t expect anything, really,” Sharpe said. “I just expect for me to come in and help this team. Whether that’s coming off the bench or starting, it doesn’t really matter to me. I’m just going to come out and do what I’ve got to do to help this team.”

“There’s a lot of different ways you could go,” Billups said. “I say this to y’all and I say this to our guys — I’m not really the one that’s deciding that. I’m really not. I’m just going to be the messenger in it. They’ve got to go earn it. Whoever earns it, whoever plays the best, whoever plays the best as a unit, (they) are going to be the starters.”

His 3pt% got worse. His defense is still quite bad.

I don't believe that for a second. This is the same coach who benched Sharpe because of defense while continuing to start Simons

But it seemed to have worked for Sharpe, and he did go back to him who started 52 of 72 games. And he did say whoever fits as a unit is important as well.

The Blazers did need outside shooting last year (and this year), so I can see why he stuck with Simons.
