I try to be as fair as I can in this. I don't care if it's another mod or a friend I will edit out the personal insult.

You keep bringing up that you've been called a bigot and ignorant and I haven't done anything about it.

I can only tell you what I have told you in the past. I miss shit. I don't have time to read all of these threads. If someone has personally attacked you then tell me. I've asked you to do this at least half a dozen times in the past. Either flag the post or contact me via PM. PM is quicker, the post flagging feature on this website is a bit wonky. I have to go into a different section of the forum outside of the Blazer forum to see those. A PM pops up as soon as I log into S2 and it also sends me a notification to my personal email address.

If you tell me where the personal insult is I will not only remove it I will apologize to you for missing it. That is the best I can offer you.

As far as this ongoing argument you have with Nate concerning him editing one of your posts recently what you don't know is as soon as you contacted him via PM pissed off Nate immediately PM'd myself and BrianFromWa asking our opinion on this. We both read your original post and while it was not the worst personal insult posted on here we both felt it was one. Now you've made it clear you think I'm incompetent when it comes to being a mod but Brian is a straight shooter, if says it reads like a personal insult you should probably take that to heart.

But more importantly, if you really didn't mean that as a personal insult then go back and reedit the post so it reflects that. You've written all of these posts and PMs claiming we're out to get you, that all the mods have banded together in some giant conspiracy to get Mediocre Man when all you had to do was go back and add 3 little words to your original post. "Your post is fucking idiotic" or "Your opinion is fucking idiotic."

Instead you bring up this weird justification for it. Saying that it isn't a personal attack but it doesn't matter because you've been personally attacked. That just doesn't make sense to me. If you didn't mean it as a personal attack what does you previously being personally attacked have to do with it?

Anyway, I'm starting to nitpick.

I'm going end this by saying to everyone on here, I truly try to be as fair as possible when moderating this forum. I think I have demonstrated that it doesn't matter who it is if I see a personal attack I will edit or delete it. If something gets missed it does not mean that I am picking a side, playing favorites or I am secretly out to get you. It means that I missed it. I have no problem admitting this but also apologizing for it. Let me know and I will gladly fix it.

It pisses me off intensely when you edit my posts but now I can't remember when you did.

Go back to editing when you feel like it, skip the pleading messages.

When what I do and why I do it is being misconstrued I felt it was important it take a moment and explain.

Also I would rather take the time to "plead" in an attempt to get people to stop with the personal attacks. I'm a little surprised you don't understand why I do this. I watched personal attacks get so out of hand on Oregonlive that they eventually escalated to threats. Threats that became so serious that you filed a complaint with the police and district attorney.

Is there a way we can see which of our posts were edited? I'm curious to know what my personal attack was, as I don't believe one was intended, so I can't change my behavior without knowing what I did.

I can't remember what it was and since it doesn't happen often I don't believe it was intended or a problem. The reason I remembered it was because it's unusual for you to do that.

you do often respond to my posts, so likely there was an insult or two.
 
FWIW, I've never been a fan of editing posts. Deleting posts, yes. The idea being we don't change what you wrote. But if you ruin your own brilliant 5 paragraphs with a final sentence that's an insult, it's your own fault.

So, from what I am understanding I can attack the post, but not the poster..so instead of saying that "You are a lack witted fool" I can say that the post was foolish and lacked any wit..have I got this correct?

Well just trying to help, you do seem a bit stressed.

Hey, that time at OL damn near worked out right. The OSP detective was already to have me meet the guy but the district attorney didn't want to let him do it until he knew the guys real name. I was already to go but I couldn't get anyone at OL to give the guy up. But I don't know if anyone else besides Lanny and ABM knew his real name. Rather disappointing that I couldn't get the SOB busted for his shit.

And I disagree, I think people get more upset when their post is deleted versus the one part that is a personal insult changed/edited. I get that people for whatever reason some times needs to vent. I'd rather let their 5 paragraphs of brilliance stand with just a small edit then delete the entire thing because of one "you're an idiot" in it.

But that is just me and I am always open to discussion about how I mod and for ways I can do it better.

You really need to be extremely articulate when doing that because I tried that and I got edited. But yes, that is correct

Ideally. But it's really up to the mods to do as they see fit to keep this place sane.
