Hard to say but Karl’s remarks are about Billup’s time in Denver under Karl on teams that featured Melo on offense. Those teams were never close to the defensive teams Billup’s played on in Detroit

Melo wasn't all that before the shut down. He must have worked his ass off during the down time. He's in significantly better shape now and every facet of his game is improved. Plus he seems to have stopped stat hunting and is laser focused on just playing and competing. And winning. And since he's playing instead of thinking, his stats and his contributions have both improved

Yeah, I'd happily take a prime Billups over CJ. In fact, it wouldn't even be a close consideration for me.
