Here is the thing. Most people on the forum are older. Okay cool. A lot of cool people here but also a lot of shitty ones who make dad jokes and wanna try and rain on your parade because you are younger. Just how it goes. Then the long time members will all gang up on an opinion they think is wrong and it becomes very social justice warrior like, just hopping on the bandwagon making a big deal of everything. It's just whatever. I saw how shitty you were treated last night and the mods don't give a shit. I have been through the same thing. Sometimes I never wanted to even come back to this forum after shit like that but I do because there are still a lot of cool people on here and I love the blazers so, is what it is I guess

Funny thing is Pat was sitting comfortable while everyone else sweated out the deadline because no one in the league knows who he is.

It's even worse.
I don't get NBA TV so i download\stream games the next day, including all the away feeds and EVERY away broadcaster has the same fucking lines on Pat.

*Pat goes in*
-Me: "please don't talk about the baseball thing, please don't talk about the baseball thing, please don't talk about the baseball thing."
-Broadcaster: "So....... THIS GUY GOT A KILLER RIGHT HAND, Mark.
-Me: "fucking hell!"

Yeah, I agree with a lot of that.

I did respond to that thread a little harshly, so I understand why NateBishop got rubbed the wrong way. Still made things personal for no reason, which I don't understand.

Well they pretty much bait you into getting at their level and then they go "hey man, why are you acting like that, that's not cool". It's fucking weird. It's crazy. That's one of the issues this forum has, if you haven't been a member for like 8-10 years, you're a "rookie". The whole thing is childish

I think it's excusable to talk all the shit you want after a bad deadline\draft.
It's not like we go around here writing SHIT! / FUCK! during every day of the year.

He assumed I wasn't joking, which is pretty ironic.

I don't know him from a lamp post, so it's actually pretty funny to me how serious he took whatever I said.

My point. It's that whole line of thinking that's dumb. "I have watched the NBA longer therefor I am superior in some sort of way attitude".
Not saying you do this but this is the feeling I get most of the time from people here

"I'm actually really mellow" is the type of thing a person with no self awareness (sometimes serial killer) would say, hence the joke. Sorry I had to explain that to you.

The fact that you're still going on about it? Not helping you, mellow man.
 
I think a lot of times older fans and posters are out of touch with the current climate not just of the players that are available, but the way the game is played. It makes sense though because our way we identify with the game starts with our experience in watching the NBA. It's like people who grew up in the golden era of the Center they get locked in on still trying to find the next great low post center yet the game has changed and it's not the #1 priority of teams anymore. Or latching on to guys who were great 5 years ago etc...etc...

Just because I wanna talk about it means I am not mellow? this is the line of thinking I am talking about. The therapy joke made sense though also not funny. The jump to serial killer? like alright. Saying I am actually mellow means no self awareness how so? Do you hear the tone in which i say my words? no you don't so how can you assume I am saying something in a certain way? you just assume I am angry. Okay that's great

I don't know. I am old and I identify with it all. I have watched the Blazers from day 1 and I embrace the change. I saw Walton and Kareem battle it out, but I also saw LaRue and Dale Schlueter stink it up. Saw Rick Barry with his underhand free throws and Dr. J with his dunks. But I have always enjoyed watching guards fill it up from deep. Geoff Petrie was my first Blazer idol as a kid. Saw him go for 46 his rookie year before there was a 3 pt line. I just love watching pure shooters like Dame, CJ and even Steph.
