He's always been his best at PF. Which is why it made ZERO sense when they gave us Rolo for nothing.

If you're going to start Okafor at center, AD is your best case PF. He has the length and lateral quickness to help erase Okafor's mistakes on the defensive end, and the face up jumper to allow Oakafor to operate on the long block on the offensive end.

One of the few trades NOP have made since drafting Davis that actually makes sense.

BNM
They might get Okafor but I not going to believe some no-named source so I wouldn't say they have him yet. But agreed he is best at PF and their current C's are shit.

does this mean AD is available???

Lets go all in for him. Crabbe/Harkless/Leonard/Davis and anyone else plus all our picks.

Dame
CJ
Who Cares
AD
Nurkic

Hmmmmmmmmm......

New Orleans would just love to trade possibly the most versatile and talented player in the league for two overpaid players, a role player and a filler (so 4 players out of which 0 will improve them) plus three late picks. Such an amazing deal.

At least include Dame or CJ in these fairy tale potential trade. Same goes for Cousins and Butler. We HAVE TO include CJ to land a player of this calibre.

I think New Orleans is a good destination for Okafor as Davis would mask his lack of defense to an extent but what can they send back, realistically? Their first round pick this year will be a good asset but too high a price.

Related questions:
1. If you could pick between trading Evan Turner and Allen Crabbe, which would you choose? (I think it's tricky: we imagine Crabbe has more value around the league (or less disvalue) but Turner might be more useful to us because of his defense and he allows CJ to play off the ball.)
2. If the Knicks gave us a first rounder to swap Joakim Noah for one of the above, would you do it?
No, saw that a guy says Noah and his contract are untradeable and I agree. I think Noah is an older hustle player, not an attractive combination

This would be the only way we could land Butler: http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=zpp2f5t
Our 3 1sts and a 2019 1st would go to Chicago.
The only way that would work is because Chicago would be dumping all their bad contracts, while landing 2 youngs pieces and 4 draft picks. Brooklyn isn't landing anyone in free agency so taking on Rondo with the reward of Vonleh and Leonard is worth it. Philadelphia gets Crabbe for Okafor

PG Lillard (35) / McCollum (13)
SG McCollum (20) / Wade (25) /B.B/E.T (3)
SF Butler (35) / Bogdanivic (13) /(Turner*)
PF Aminu (26) / Davis (22)
C Lopez (24) / Nurkic (24)

Not expecting this to happen, but since so many people are thinking we can get Butler, I had to outline how insane a deal it would take to land him.

If that is true then I would pass on Butler. I like him a lot, but he isn't James or Durant. Giving away the entire future of the franchise is too much. If it went bad we would suck for a decade, and other teams would be getting our lottery picks.

2 first meyers and Ezeli for Lopez

Brooke ain't worth it. He doesn't impact the game enough. If he did the Nets wouldn't be looking at the record they have and the years of losing since his arrival. But to me, if he was all that interested, a guy of his size would be closer to 12 rebs and 3 blks a game.

He is more interested in collecting his check and getting his arse home.

LAL gets: NOP 1st, Worst of PHI and LAL 1sts
PHI Gets: Best of PHI and LAL 1sts
NOP Gets: Clarkson, Okafor

Crabbe to Washington for Mahinmi and the Wizards pick?

You realize this is a team sport, right?

As for his rebounding, he's like his brother, he doesn't put up big rebounding stats but he boxes out really well and team rebounding goes up when he's on the court.

That being said, I dont know why we're talking about another center. Nurkic didn't come to sit, and Olshey said they wanted to get younger at the position.

I've just changed my mind about Vonleh. Maybe I'm missing something, cos I didn't see the game, but only thing Stotts can develop in Vonleh is frustration. No Plums, no Nurk and Stotts put him in for14mins. Meanwhile, Meyers shoots 0-100, still on the court. Again, I didn't see it, maybe there was something else going on, but I'm starting to think that Stotts got no idea what he's doing with rotation. I spot it on some sunday game (it was early), when he was taking hot hands off the court and I was wondering wtf he's trying to do.

Saying that, I think we may as well trade Vonleh and I hate it, because I think he could be a monster. I think he won't develop under Stotts.
And I'm not sure now if building through draft is that good idea with this coach. We would have to draft Durant, ready to play guy, because if we'll take rough dimond he will die on the bench.

I think Neil is pushing to make another deal asap so he can come up with a game plan for next week. There is a bigger retool needed than simply the addition or Nurkic. They are going to give up the notion of making a strong push and get back to the rebuild they started in the summer of 2015.

Ok here are some quick ideas for a Meyers, Memphis pick package

To Brooklyn for Chris McCullough.

To Orlando for Ibaka. Probably have to add Vonleh to this one.

That's all I got lol.

I want more stuffs to happen!
Same.

But I don't want to use a 1st round pick just to move a bad contract. Milwaukee was able to move the other Plumlee for team-friendly deals without surrounding any picks and we should use that as a baseline. If anything, we need to acquire more picks, giving us more flexibility on draft night to move up the draft.

Sending picks to get rid of contracts makes sense if you want to use the obtained cap space to sign free agents that will help you. We won't sign any free agents that will help us, the time to do it was last year and we got either turned down or did not even inquire about the best players available (Howard, Whiteside). It makes sense for Cleveland to send people to open up cap space and add picks because they are trying to get players now who will help them compete now.

In a hindsight it might have been better not to give out crazy contracts to Crabbe and Leonard and not sign Turner, which would have left us with significant cap space this year and we'd be able to actually use that on some players as a lot of teams have done the same mistake we did last year and paid over the top for their players which left them with no room to work in 2017.

The position we are in currently is we can either trade for good players or build through the draft. We are not getting any free agents in so creating cap space to accommodate them is not needed. If this draft is anywhere near as deep as they say then it's a good idea to bring 3 new young players in, in which case we should perhaps trade some of our current younger players for more experienced assets.

Vonleh picked up 6 fouls in 14 minutes. It wasn't Stotts that limited his playing time, it was those pesky rules.

Ibaka to Toronto for Ross/1st

1st is 2017, worst of Toronto/LA Clippers

Ibaka has expressed interest in signing with Toronto (will be a FA) but how the cap will work with Lowry I have no idea

Vonleh got into foul trouble and 6th one was plan stupid foul. But this first game I seen him play in the 4th but with Von it seems like get lost in the offense at times. But I like his hustle and his rebounding.

...Von it seems like get lost in the offense at times....
And on defense. I noticed several times last night in the first quarter when Meyers was forced to leave his man to pick up a driving guard, no one (coughVonlehcough) rotated to help on defense.

Myers did what he was suppose to do on defense. But it was a bad rotation by the other guys to cover his man. It wasnt Myers fault. Matter fact he wasnt doing a bad job on the defense until Hardway blew by him on a break. What piss me off was he didn't even realize that Hardway had the basketball. Then it started go down hill for him. Plus all the bricks he was shooting.

Toronto makes a big move to help their playoff push. Now am curious to see if Boston, Cleveland, and Washington, the other top 3 teams in the east, will match? And how can we help? Because he is cheap, I doubt we do anything with him, but Aminu would be a good addition off the bench for Cleveland and Washington, I would think.
