They both need the ball in similar spots on the floor, are more effective at C, and you need shooting from that 4 spot at least SOME of the time in this offense and we dont have any right now
Agreed. But he's unlikely to come cheap. Also: he's a high usage guy, so might not fit Stott's model.Guyyyys..Nurkic is the answer. Also fits Olsheys model of finding younger players that just need to be given more faith/playing time.
Yeah, agreed. I'd pretty much talked myself out of it by the end of my post. They're complimentary in terms of one is a strong offensive player and the other a defensive stud, but I agree, they'd get in each other's way too much.
Like I said, it didn't work well in PHI playing Okafor and Noel together last year, and Monroe is just an older, more expensive, no upside version of Okafor.

thats why I like the idea of getting noel cause lineups like this
Dame
CJ
Hark
Aminu
Noel
make me think we could be a top 10 defensive team within the dame & cj window
It would be perfect if Aminu could knock down an open shot.
Paul Millsap would be great in that line up today, but he's too old and too expensive to be a long term solution.
Of course, Paul George would be absolutely perfect, but I don't see any way of getting him.

If Paul George becomes available, a package of CJ, Vonleh, Leonard, and 1st round picks seems like it would be very attractive. It would be perfect if Aminu could knock down an open shot.

Id be happy with:
Noel
Vucevic
Nurkic
Dieng
Lopez
Surely we could land one of those guys.
I believe it would take CJ and harkless just to start the conversation realistically, plus Vonleh and pick or two just for georgeIf Paul George becomes available, a package of CJ, Vonleh, Leonard, and 1st round picks seems like it would be very attractive.
POR Gets: Paul George, Nerlens Noel
IND Gets: CJ McCollum, Noah Vonleh, '17 POR 1st, '19 POR 1st, Right to swap w/ POR 2020
PHI Gets: Allen Crabbe, '18 CLE 1st
I think Indiana would surely listen. That trade would work because offloading Crabbe for Noel negates CJs poison pill.
And imagine the switch potential:
Lillard
George
Harkless
Aminu
Noel
If we could get George without giving up CJ, I'd do anything, even if it meant Harkless, Vonleh, 3 first round picks, and giving them the right to swap in two other drafts
Yeah right now my list is pretty much Nurkic and Noel, with everyone else as plan B. I feel like those are the two that are most likely to be traded, and I can't think of a team with assets that needs a post presence more than Portland. It's been almost a year and a half with this team now. There shouldn't be anymore evaluation left. Olshey has to be getting close to pulling the trigger imo.
They need a SF because Gallinari probably won't stick around. They need shooting. They could possibly trade Gallinari for a 1st or two, then trade for Crabbe to take Gallinari's place and pair him with Wilson Chandler at SF.One of our assets might look attractive to Philadelphia (Crabbe) but not entirely sure we have assets that will look attractive to Nuggets. They don't need guards and they don't need centers.

Speaking of faith and playing time, I'd love to see more Vonleh and Layman. I really want Vonleh to be our future at PF and I think his confidence looks better this season and he just needs the opportunuty. We aren't winning a title this year, why not groom out players with the most talent/potential?Guyyyys..Nurkic is the answer. lol what? Portland rumored as trade possibility for Andrew Bogut? either this is new or just didn't see this on the forum today

He may be the answer but he's young, talented, and on good contract and Denver likes him, so we would have to give up a lot to get him - realistically what are you going to offer?Guyyyys..Nurkic is the answer. I would try to get Chandler as well.Something like Vonleh and one or two firsts.
one can only hopeYesterday, the Blazer Fans LA group was supposed to have a quick meet and greet with Meyers Leonard. For some reason he never came over despite a confirmation with our Clippers broker from Blazers staff like an hour before. He seemed a bit distant from the rest of the guys in shootaround. wonder if he knows he's getting traded. :MARIS61:

Why did he even agree to this in the first place?

I can think of 41 million reasons.
I get that money can't buy happiness, but I know if I was in my mid-20s and new myself, my family and any future offspring were set for life, I'd find it hard to get too upset about anything.
Don't get me wrong, I'd play my ass off to earn that money, but I'd be grateful for every penny. Especially, coming from an impoverished background, like Meyers.
