In a parallel universe, if Aldridge apologized for leaving and admitted it was a mistake, and Spurs told us they love Meyers so much they are willing to give us Aldridge and two picks for him, would you take him back?
Nope! I hated watching him play "basketball". It's him and Travis Outlaw as the two fan favorites that I want to expunge from my Blazers memory. Aminu would have joined them, but thankfully his fan favorite cred has mostly evaporated...Gerald Wallace or Abdur-Rahim are probably the next closest.

Two players that barely get mentioned, who might get moved by the deadline: Andrew Bogut and P.J. Tucker. BOS could use both. If Ainge can't come up with a way to fleece CHI for Butler without giving up either BRK pick (which he absolutely will not do), look for him to fall back to add role players like Bogut and Tucker.

agree on Bogut for sure, that sure would seem to be a backup plan for him as Celts get killed on the boards

Just read the Spurs are talking with the Suns about trading Lamarcus...said it wasn't working out in San Antonio for the dude....wasn't impacting the offense as much as expected...Parker and Ginobli want to win now and Aldridge is not a good fit according to the rumor

Not the first time SA has considered that with LA.

ALL DAY EVERY DAY.

Edit: I'd then waive LMA... I just want Meyers to be traded.

Gerald Wallace got us Dame... he will be a fan favorite for a long time.

I'd take Aldridge back whether or not he apologized, if all it cost was Meyers (even if Meyers apologized). He'd fit well next to Nurkic.

I don't think I've seen Bender play. Heard a lot about him being the new Porzingis but aside from both coming from Europe I don't know how similar they really are.
Not very, other than being tall. Bender is less athletic and not much of a shot-blocker, but has more guard skills. A taller Toni Kukoc was the optimistic comparison.

Pistons taking calls for Caldwell-Pope and Drummond.

I'd love Caldwell-Pope as a 3rd guard. Too bad he's too small to play SF.

Shoot, if Philadelphia wants Crabbe for Okafor, I'd take that and try to swing Okafor for Caldwell-Pope.

Bogut's offense has really fallen off in DAL this year, but that's to be expected after coming from GSW and it's not why you trade for him. He is still an elite level rebounder at both ends of the court and currently has a DBPM > 5.0 for the fourth season in a row, which is pretty damn impressive.

He's an expiring, which could be seen as either good, or bad, depending on what he costs you. Worst case, he's a 3 - 4 month rental, but if BOS wants to make a deep playoff run, he'd really help address their two biggest weaknesses. He may, or may not, re-sign with you over the summer - if you wish, but at his age, I don't think he will command an outrageous contract. He also seems like a loyal guy who values stability and a good situation over chasing as much money as possible.

Back in mid-November, when we were above .500 and looking like a middle playoff seed, I wanted to get Nerlens Noel, Serge Ibaka and Andrew Bogut to be our three headed front court. All three are way better than anyone we had, would have given us great defense and rebounding and with one young player (22), one mid-career guy (27) and a savvy vet (32), they would have all had clearly defined roles.

Ah well, what could have been. I'm not disappointed in the Plumlee/Nurkic, but if all three of those guys get moved and we get none of them, I will be a little disappointed.

how bout Crabbe and Cle 1st (if needed) for Okafor and one of either Bayless or Hendo? both are due 9 mil next yr, Bayless has one more yr after that and that makes Crabbe's contract look pretty decent and both Hendo and Bayless are useful players

Because the Spurs are so shitty with him and aren't winning games?

Pretty sure this is a move to help em get closer to the floor. Tiago will not play

I doubt he plays either....but getting close to the floor doesn't save them money. They just have to pay it out to the players on the roster.

Maybe they are trying to make room for Crabbe, Leonard and Ezeli for Okafor. :bgrin:

Sixers are finalizing a trade to Ersan Ilyasova to Atlanta for Tiago Splitter and two second-round picks, league sources tell @TheVertical.

Sixers with another big? Someone has to be gone from there....
Two expirings traded, Sixers pick up a couple seconds and improve their chances for losing and getting a better lotto pick as Ersan has played well for them and Tiago is pretty worthless

closer to floor? don't think so as Ersans and Tiagos salaries are very close
