And, BTW, Aaron Mintz, who is PG13's agent, is also the agent for Crabbe and Leonard.

George can't get the super max if he's not on the team that drafted him, so making him first option if we traded for him would have no impact on his next contact value. He says he want to play for a contender. That doesn't sound like the Lakers to me.
And honestly, if I was the Blazers, I'd make George the No. 1 option on offense for at least one year to give him the best shot all making one of the all NBA teams. It's not like we're getting past GSW or CLE next year anyway. So, spend a year force feeding him the ball so he can pad his stats.
Dame is a team player and a true leader. I think he'd sacrifice his own stats (he already got his max contract) if it helps the team keep a player like George around for another 5 years. Dame is a big picture kind of guy and realizes that if we do have a championship window, it will be after GSW's and CLE's windows close. Dame + PG13 + C.J. + Nurk is a hell of a Big 4 and none of them currently over 27.
Make George the No. 1 option, at least for the first year. Hell, Steph Curry, the 2-time reigning MVP sacrificed his stats to incorporate Durant into the GSW offense. That sets a good precedent for Dame to do the same. Being the No. 1 option on a top 4 team will make him want to stay. Making one of the all NBA teams and getting a super max contract will seal the deal.

It wouldn't be about how good we were last year without George (and for the most part, Nurkic). It would be about how great we can be next year with both. And make no mistake, this team healthy plus George is a contender.Lets think about this for a minute. Why does Paul George want to play on a team that had no all stars or all nba team members this year? Could that impact our decision to go after him? Sounds like he wants to win or play for the Lakers.
And no, you can't make the same argument for the Lakers. Because obviously he sees through piss colored glasses and loves the organization. Closer to home for him too.
I think we would be damn damn good with him. But we were a 8th seed this year if you look at it at face value. Yes, we played better with Nurkic but..... will George care?
Sure, we may think that. The question that matters is, does George? It wouldn't be about how good we were last year without George (and for the most part, Nurkic). It would be about how great we can be next year with both. And make no mistake, this team healthy plus George is a contender.
What he thinks now wouldn't matter. All that would matter would be what he experiences next season if he's (shockingly) traded here.Sure, we may think that. The question that matters is, does George?
And ya know, what Neil thinks. And what George thinks after being sold by Neil. What he thinks now wouldn't matter. All that would matter would be what he experiences next season if he's (shockingly) traded here.

No way we give up assets for a guy that straight up says he wouldnt want to stay in portland.
Not saying he will say that. But it still matters today too.

So in other words.........he owes us.
CP3 only played in 61 games.
With CP3 and Blake Griffin not making it, and the Lakers being a dumpster fire, it seems like the voters felt obligated to have at least one Los Angeles player make all NBA. That became Jordan by default.

To be eligible, a player needs to be named to any of the three All-NBA teams or as Defensive Player of the Year in either the season preceding the extension or two of the three prior seasons. It will also apply to the league’s Most Valuable Player in any of the three seasons before the extension.
Can someone explain to me why everyone is saying that Paul George will definitively not be eligible for the DVE when he becomes a free agent next summer? Everything I've read indicates that if he makes an all-NBA team this next season, it should still be available to him.
