Merged: Blazers vs Celtics game thread

It would have been bad enough without playing 5 on 8. The Celtics would still have beat the hell out of the Blazers, but with the calls on top of it it just made it fucking stupid.

Several issues come to mind this game:

1. The whole team broke down and failed top to bottom, players and coaches alike.

2. There was no shot blocking in the middle to stop Bayless, but we barely used him, and then only in the second half. He was also doing a great job at containing Rhondo. Like he did on Parker just a while back. But for some reason, we tried everybody but him on Rhondo before using him to defend Rhondo.

3. Rudy is playing hesitant. He is thinking too god damned much. Just take the shot and live with it Rudy.

4. In the second half Camby got a loose ball and through an outlet, and nobody was even looking to catch it. You could tell Camby was pissed off. He should be. I was. We had two players out in front of everybody and nobody even looked for an outlet pass.

5. Andre you are a point guard not an outside shooter. Knock that shit off.

6. Brandon- Sit down. You can't move like you want to, and your hurting the team.

7. Ball movement. Can we get some, and when it is moved, can you please not make lazy passes like pretty much all of tonight?

8. How many times this season is a guy going to shoot technical free throws who isn't the best free throw shooter on the floor?

9. Will somebody please make an open jumper? Good teams make open jumpers. Bad teams shoot like Portland did tonight.

10. Did Martell even play? For all the fuck he did out there tonight, he might as well not have.

11. Welcome to the world of taking lumps while your young players learn.

12. Did anybody on the Blazers even scout this team? I saw the Blazers make the same mistakes tonight as LA made last night. The same god damn mistakes.

Should Roy start coming off the bench? At least until he's right again?
No. He should stay on the bench until he's right again. If he plays at all, he should start.

first time i turned a blazer game off this season with 7 minutes left in the 4th. this was beyond embarrassing. pathectic is too nice. that would be rudys play.

batum and webster are a joke.

roy looks like hes under 20%

la, howard, and camby looked like they lost beyond imagination.

bayless was his normal "me against the world" self

just a complete abortion of a game. sundays game might definse teh rest of our season. a loss and its over.

[snip the drivel]

No true fan would ever turn off the game. Every supporter of the team suffers with the organization when all goes wrong as it did tonight. You, mixum (lower case for effect showing status), bring to mind two excerpts from from a dictionary:

ab·ject  /ˈæbdʒɛkt, æbˈdʒɛkt/ Show Spelled[ab-jekt, ab-jekt] Show IPA
–adjective
1. Utterly hopeless, miserable, humiliating, or wretched: abject poverty.
2. Contemptible; despicable; base-spirited: an abject coward.
3. Shamelessly servile; slavish.
4. Obsolete. cast aside.

id·i·ot  /ˈɪdiət/ Show Spelled[id-ee-uht] Show IPA–noun
1. An utterly foolish or senseless person.
2. Psychology. a person of the lowest order in a former classification of mental retardation, having a mental age of less than three years old and an intelligence quotient under 25.

If you're embarrassed it has nothing to do with the Portland Trail Blazers and everything to do with your perceived self importance.

Boston put on a defensive clinic tonight. They knew exactly what kind of offense we were going to run and keyed in on it everytime. Every time Aldridge tries to go to that up and under I cringe. Its horrible. I think Camby and him could get a nice little high-low thing going. Boston and LA utilize the high-low game better than anyone in the league, we should study that. If done right, its nearly unstoppable.

Agreed. Everyone knows what a McMillan coached team are going to run (or not run).
Even when it's not working, you can usually expect to see more of the same.
Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

Steve Blake (with no practice on a new team) vs Playoff bound Atlanta: 9 assists

The entire Portland team vs Playoff bound Boston: 7 Assists
