I understand that you are overexagerating to make a point but there is a huge difference between the offers SAC did and would have got and Kat. If (and I not saying that is a given) that the only other offer that SAC gave thought to was a Drummond and pick then I can actually see why they would pass on that. Andre doesn't make them a contender and if they don't win (which they won't) then he would just leave in due time. So unless you are taking him on to trade him then he gets you no closer then Cousins. The only thing SAC can pray to do is pick well (they will need to get rid of Vivek in that case) and get lucky that Buddy blows up. Calculated risk. Are you saying there's no such thing as objectively better deals and, by extension, objectively better players? I mean, I'm kind of sympathetic to the high bar to clear for something to be "objectively" better (some would argue there's never such a thing as "objectively" better), but I think a deal for, say, Karl-Anthony Towns would be pretty conclusively better than what they got, in the aim of building a stronger basketball team, even if they "liked" what they got more. I'm not saying they had that offer available (obviously, they didn't), but I think they could easily have turned down a deal that would have made their team better than the deal they took.
To make this simpler: I have no faith in their evaluation skills, so what they "like" carries little weight with me. That's what I'm saying.
Agreed. Stigma will last for a while. Eventually, though, it'll go away like it did for Turner.Amidst all this frenzy I do not envy Buddy Hield. He could quietly develop into a decent player at New Orleans but now he will forever be the player Kings traded Cousins for, with unrealistic expectations and Kings fans' hate. This move will probably hurt his career too.

I'll try to write down the more pertinent stuff.
Grant said he is not at all going to miss all the Cousins BS like arguing with officials, getting in it with team mates, getting in it with the coach.

Grant sounds like a disgusting corporate yes-man. If I was a Kings fan I would hate this guy.
That surely wasn't a factor. Thanks to a previous horrific deal, the 76ers have the right to swap picks with the Kings, so if the Kings successfully tank, the '6ers reap the benefit.
And the pick is unprotected? Wow
A player doesn't leave when offered a max offer after their rookie deal. I think there has been exactly 1 example where a guy did in the history of the NBA. Don't put it past a terrible franchise like SAC offering that if he shows even just a little growth to average starter. And if Hield does blow up, he leaves, like Drummond. If you're banking on being a terrible franchise, there's no point to acquiring anyone, I guess. But it's a good thing for them to bank on, as they've made multiple terrible decisions to reach this point. It seems unlikely that that will change going forward.
I think he has a different opinion than the majority and that opinion has to fall in line with that narrative. I don't think he is actually a corporate yes man, I think he spent years watching Cousins on and off the court and genuinely feels like the Kings are better going forward without his personality.Grant sounds like a disgusting corporate yes-man. No protections on the swap, yes. And, due to the same deal, the 76ers own the Kings' 2019 first-rounder--also unprotected.

Thomas got better as a player in those 3 years?Look at what Isaiah Thomas is doing in Boston right now, and then ask yourself why Thomas and Cousins had records of 22-44(lockout) 28-44, and again 28-44 in their 3 years as team mates.

I am still listening to him, waiting for Vlade. His logic makes perfect sense. The Kings blew up everything for Cousins. They fired and hired 10,000 different coaches, talented players (Thomas, Evans, Rondo, Gay...) were put around him and his team never finished better than 38-44.Did you listen to him? He sounds like a complete shill and his logic makes no sense. The moment someone mentions something that goes against the Kings agenda he becomes super defensive and basically dismisses all the claims. Also asked a pissed off Kings fan to renue his season tickets to continue to "support the culture" of the team.
Buddy could always rely on his college degree. Walmart hires management.Yea, no pressure Buddy!
Yes he improved each year.Thomas got better as a player in those 3 years?
