Why do you think it was NO's choice? It's also interesting NO choose to keep the better defender/worse shooter of the two (Crabbe/ET).

Harkless to get Meyers out?If its Crabbe for Gordon straight up, would be great, but Hark is part of this equation

Wasn't it universally understood that BK would be the one place where AC could be dumped? What I do lovce is no one saw this coming. NO is SNEAKY!
Amazing that they've become the bad-contract-dumping-ground this summer. Mosgov, Carroll, and Crabbe all in a month...Wasn't it universally understood that BK would be the one place where AC could be dumped?
They're sick of losing top 3 picksAmazing that they've become the bad-contract-dumping-ground this summer. Mosgov, Carroll, and Crabbe all in a month...

I don't see that a trade exception really helps us; this means that a trade would be salary coming in and no salary going out.

Or just in a trade right? Like if we sent out Meyers + harkless + davis and got back gordon it would be like losing 26m off our salary cap and not taking on any money? Am I off base here?Doesn't it theoretically mean we could absorb Gordon without sending out anything?
Can't combine players with TPEs. Has to be two separate deals.Or just in a trade right? Like if we sent out Meyers + harkless + davis and got back gordon it would be like losing 26m off our salary cap and not taking on any money? Am I off base here?

Considering its a trade exception, yes. We would be able to artifically add that amount to make trades work, saving us money. I THINK. I could totally be wrong.
So we'd have to trade for melo first? lolCan't combine players with TPEs. Has to be two separate deals.
Not quite. We're below the apron, but any MLE use would put us back above it.Does this bring us down to the full MLE range?
You can't add it to anything to make a trade work. The exception would need to be traded straight up for a player.
It doesnt we're 4.8 over the cap his hold is 1.5How close does waiving Pat get us to under the cap?
we had to eat over 6 mil per in Nicholson's salary and they netted out getting Crabbe for 11 mil or so per, signing Crabbe last yr was not smart, but at least it did not cost us an asset besides the 2.7 mil per yr assuming we "stretch" Nicholson as reportedWell this is disappointing, I thought we could get some kind of value for him, but the market swung the wrong way and it's better to get rid of him than keep him at that price.
It doesnt
Yes and no. As long as a single deal could technically be split into two separate CBA-approved deals, it could still be done. Can't combine players with TPEs. Has to be two separate deals.
we're 4.8 over and his hold is 1.5I know, but how much closer does it get us?
Sure, but then we would be back in the same miserable cap situation as before the Crabbe trade.Doesn't it theoretically mean we could absorb Gordon without sending out anything?
but with better players...Sure, but then we would be back in the same miserable cap situation as before the Crabbe trade.
