I liked Crabbe a lot, but not for that contract's price tag. Good move by Neil.

Gordon or Anderson. Book it. Our bench just lost its best and maybe only shooter. If it's not Gordon or Anderson it's some other shooter. Not connaughton.
We just got a $13 mil trade exception as @BLAZINGGIANTS mentioned.
That can be sent to HOU to absorb Eric Gordon's contract in full. ugh
So much for these contracts being untradable, eh?
Before we matched his contract, there would have been a slew of complaints we lost him for nothing, we got worse by losing a key player, that he was a big part of our overachieving season that we wanted to build on, etc.
It will be interesting to see if he turns into a star for Brooklyn.
I refuse to believe that PA cares about being in the tax for a year.Which would put us in LT penalty again.

We got less than nothing; we got a bill for $2.8 million for the next 7 years.So.....why even match the contract if we got nothing anyways?
It's not the money, it's the other penalties that PA would be concerned about. Though the money matters, too.I refuse to believe that PA cares about being in the tax for a year.
That's such a great analogy!I feel like Sean Spicer. Constantly defending the administration. Telling everyone about how great Crabbe is, then Olshey just fired off a tweet completely contradicting me. I'll be in the bushes if you need me.
Cap Space didn't make the team.So is Cap Space gonna push Cash Consideration for playing time???

So we didn't lose him for nothing at all. We got the benefit of playing him a whole 'nother season to see if we had something more special than he showed.
So how does this affect PattyC?
His money is no longer an issue?
He is an asset money wise in possible trades. It was a good move extending his contract deadline. This gives Olshey more room for trade maneuvering.
It's also interesting NO choose to keep the better defender/worse shooter of the two (Crabbe/ET).
This doesn't do anything to our MLE yet, right? We'd have to clear Meyers as well?
