We'd need to get a backup center, badly.Dame/Turner
CJ/Gordon
Ariza/Aminu
Vonleh/Swanigan
Nurk/Collins
That's an improved team.

it seems like this is a qualifier for everyone. If we get gordon straight up for the TPE then this trade is a win. If not, is it a loss?
Yes. It was a good strategy. A good strategy doesn't always pan out, but it was worth a try, and a trade exception.I don't think it does. The way I see it was Neil matched the offer last year in an attempt to create an extra asset in case we were able to be in a situation where a star was shopped (i.e Paul George) and we needed a large salary to help match without giving up CJ or Dame. Well It didn't work , so he dumped the contract........ just like I said he could if needed. (without giving up a 1st round draft pick) Was it wise? who knows but at least he tried.
Forget more minutes for Napier: Jake Layman BAYYYBEEE!!!This move also opens up more minutes for Shabazz Napier which I think is a good move....Swanigan will get some SF burn as well....also says Turner is our starter more than likely which I'm fine with

Depends to me upon the player Neil has targeted to fill a roster spot...could be a real upgrade nobody is aware of....I like surprises when it comes to the offseasonit seems like this is a qualifier for everyone. Portland in: Ariza, GordonThat doesn't work either. The Rockets have already use their non-tax payer MLE to sign P.J. Tucker. So, they can't go over the luxury tax apron at any point before the end of the 2017-18 season. In addition the Gordon/TPE and Ariza to NYK deals, they'd need to send out another $4.15 million to clear the space to get Carmelo.

Giving Crabbe one more year to prove himself, then getting a $13 Million trade exception for him is worse than losing Crabbe for nothing?
How about two disgruntled not star level players? Just as good, right?Unfortunately, we can't combine that TPE with our existing contracts in a trade, and our pick of the litter at $13 mil and under isn't anywhere close to netting us a disgruntled star level player.

Two steps back, three steps forward?its all good man. we just got worse though, no bones about it.
will we get better? hopefully!

Gordon is a worse shooting more injury prone version of Crabbe. He's not good. What if we use the exception on Gordon (or other shooter)? In effect trading Crabbe for Gordon (or other shooter). Still not a win?
Just because he played in a fast paced offense and got enough shots to average 15ppg. He's a one-dimensional, injury prone version of Crabbe. He's extremely overrated. He won 6th man of the year.......![]()

The both shoot 5.5 2pt FGs per 36, and Crabbe shot 49% to Gordon's 47%.Gordon is a better player than Crabbe. Not a huge upgrade - and clearly not the shooter that AC is - but he can handle the ball and can attack the rim, so there's that.

You win that award by averaging 15ppg off the bench, regardless of efficiency and how good/bad your defense is.You should really send out flyers to let the league know that they messed up by giving him that award.

Sending out Crabbe and Harkless would be a travesty.
WTF did you say to me?Oh Gawd *edited: Express your opinions without personal attacks, thanks!*. This is just false.

Yay youre a moderator and a bad oneWTF did you say to me?
So? Gordon shoots more on worse efficiency. That makes him better?Im willing to bet $50 AC will never average more than 15ppg in his career.
Your posts are idiotic, unintellegent, and have no substance.Yay youre a moderator and a bad one
Lmao I realized I can see since I'm a mod.Extrapolate

That Gordon is a bad player? That AC is somehow better? I mean if all you look at is shooting% then Dame is a below average player. It is common knowledge more usage will equal a lower shooting% and the fact that he does so much more than AC and only shoots 2% less is all the argument I needWhat's false? Let's have an intellectual conversation about this.
