My problem is that I won't stand for unfound criticisim of players. Saying they "SUCK" especially gets my attention.

Just let it go, people are always going to say that so it's a battle you will never win

For some here, it is all about the player and not about the team. I call this out.

Disagree with the points. Defend the players. Do not attack another poster. Attacking other posters--whether because you disagree with them or for any reason--is not allowed. If you think the rules do not apply to you then you're going to be sorely disappointed.

Saying players that you know and see on the road blasted "sucks" for me. It's stupid. A 38 point win and all we see is players "sucking" and threads dedicated to posters who defend these players.

......and why do you care that much what anonymous people on the internet say about a certain player?

How old are you again?

What in the hell happened here?

Blazers won in a blowout, but after reading the whole thread you wouldn't know that huh. Sheesh :ohno:

There was a game last night?

I think from now on we need two parallel game threads: one for talking about the game and one for talking about the people talking about the game. That way, I can read the former and ignore the latter.

BNM

Can we try to make this happen, please?

Pretty much. Lots of cowards here who call out players on a 10-6 team. I've learned my lesson. No use fighting it.

I don't really care. I thinks it is funny when they melt down when I say their screen name sucks.

That said, if defending the Blazer players off to their best start since 2000 has cast me the villain, so be it.

Lots of hate on this board for the team. I don't get it.

So posting that players on a 10-6 team "SUCK" isn't trying to annoy people and get them mad?

That said, I agree, I joined the monkeys who sling poop last night, and I won't do it again.

The "can't beat 'em so join 'em" approach has only left me alienated from other reasonable fans. Of course, most seem to be leaving, so maybe it is time for a "positive board" and a "negative board"?

Mods, is that possible? It would alleviate a lot of the "Player X Sucks!" posts that pollute game threads.

I don't think so. I think people who are saying that are frustrated and venting. It may be short-sighted and reactionary, but that's what venting is. Tensions run high among many fans during games, and irrational anger sometimes bubbles up.

A separate forum for "negative" posts? Probably not. I don't think there's a desire for it and it wouldn't be used. I don't think this is unique to this forum, anyway. On other sports forums I've been a part of, game threads always have a certain number of fans who are posting stream of consciousness, which means when angry, post angry comment. When happy, post happy comment. Usually both are reactionary (Frye missed a shot? He sucks!! Blake hit a shot? He's awesome!!). I've never particularly enjoyed that aspect of game threads, but I either ignore it or, if a non-vague claim is put forth ("Blake is awful about taking care of the ball" for example), I might argue it.

Largely, I prefer to watch the game in peace and maybe glance through the game thread from time to time.

Game threads suck. That's why I never post in them.
