Merged: Hedo / Blazers hammerin out deal / Reportedly reach agreement

great now we're gonna get less wins

And your reasoning is...? Yeah, I didn't think you had any. Batum is still likely to get the same time this year as last year. Now, you give Outlaw's minutes to Turkey. Turkey = upgrade over Outlaw, or any other small forward on our roster. Yet, we will have fewer losses this upcoming season? How so? Give some fucking reasoning.

Turkey to Blazers = more flaming, bitching fans a la mixum.

Hell, you take Turkey away from Orlando last season, and that's one more win for Portland.

To commemorate the lame comment, I will end with one more lame comment, a currently common cliche: You fail!

We now have easily the biggest frontline in the NBA - we will OWN the boards!

Hedo and Blazers Agree

Too bad.

Brittle bones, no defense and awesome 40% fg.

Congrats Portland!

Experts believe the cap likely will be somewhere between $57 million and $59 million. If the cap number comes in at the high end, the Blazers can offer close to what Turkoglu is hoping for.

Waste of $$.

Wow another thread on this.

Too bad.

What a waste.

Re: Hedo and Blazers Agree

Not a bad move, considering he was probably the best player we could have gotten as a Free Agent.

If we can landa PG, I will officially call this offseason a super success. As of right now, i'm happy, but not satisfied.

Portland's lineup will consist of at least Roy, Turkey, LA, and Oden. Fill in the 5th spot depending on the situation/need with anyone, whether Batum for defense and length, Rudy for scoring, Blake for whatever he does (??), Webster for outside shooting.

I don't LOVE the signing personally, but your post is wrong on a bunch of levels so I'll respond.

Brittle bones: Hedo has missed 18 games in 4 years. Fewer than Greg Oden, Lamarcus Aldridge and Brandon Roy have missed in the last 3 years.

No defense: His career defensive rating of 104 would have tied Greg Oden for 2nd on our team last season, only trailing Joel Przybilla.

40% fg shooting: Nice exaggeration. His career average is closer to 45% than it is to 40%, so we can all exaggerate and fudge numbers. He's a decent shooter at worst.

Waste of money: well...all NBA players are overpaid, so I can't argue with that TOO much. But who is out there that would have been a better signing? Turkoglu is probably the best option at one of our positions of need. I think it's an okay signing.

i am honestly ok with 3 times the ppg for 4% less accuracy, based on the times that we lost the game by 1 or 2 points, the fail at next season by less scoring than Batum equation seems flawed in pretty much every way.

Re: Hedo and Blazers Agree

Love all the made up facts by the OP.

Re: Hedo and Blazers Agree

The height of his hair is eclipsed only be his ignorance. OP is about 1 post away from the who fucking cares round file.

Re: Hedo and Blazers Agree

I swear it's Blazer Prophet.

Perhaps you're right. The profile was just created. It's likely a regular who rather than speaking their piece and being mocked, is so worried about credibility that he/she created a new profile under which he/she will bitch, bitch, and bitch some more.

Re: Hedo and Blazers Agree

Hedo averaged 41.3% FG's last season. Career is 42.8%. He is below average in steals. He averaged an impressive .6 offensive rebounds per game - despite teams efforts to box Howard.

All of his numbers dropped 08-09 season compared to 07-08 season.

Terrible

Not so fast?

Rick Bucher on ESPN News said:
They do not have an agreement. There is a deal, 5 years and 52 million that is apparently on the table. I've been told by a couple of sources it's not done yet. It's not a matter of fit. It's a matter of going to Portland, quite honestly. I know his wife is very interested in going to Toronto. They right now are sitting back to see what happens. I would say Turkoglu is either going to leave Portland and have a deal done or closing the door on that situation and moving forward with Toronto. I was told it was very close this morning but the fact that we don't have anything concrete at this point suggests that there's still some mulling being done on the part of Turkoglu.

If you scroll up and read one of the links before, it said Hedo was going to meet with Blazer officials at the practice facility at 2:00 p.m. to iron out the details of the contract. By my watch, it's 2:22 p.m. right now. And Bucher apparently said "not so fast" at 1:45, even before Hedo was to meet with the Blazer officials.

I think it's just a matter of time. I'm not worried, and neither should you be.

So essentially we traded Lafrentz, Frye, Ruffin, and Randolph for Hedo. When you think of it like this, it's a fantastic deal.

God, Toronto is quickly joining Memphis as my least favorite, run by incompetent morons franchise. They'd have to renounce half their team to land Hedo - and would still probably miss the play-offs. Bosh leaves next summer and they are stuck trying to rebuild with the last 4 years of Hedo's $60 million deal on their books. They can't be that stupid, can they? I think this is just Hedo's agent trying to squeeze every last penny out of Portland.

BNM

Wheels is pretty adamant that this is a done deal even after reading the Bucher piece.

The Lakers frontline is a bit taller when they start Odom at SF, and they're as good or better rebounders at each position.

I am not buying the whole wife thing. If she was a factor in this, than she would be there to check out the city. Is she?

Despite published reports to the contrary, Hedo Turkoglu has not reached an agreement with the Trail Blazers, a team source announced at 2:20 p.m. Friday. ESPN first reported that a deal had been reached in principle, but general manager Kevin Pritchard and Turkoglu agent Lon Babby have not confirmed the deal.
