I decided to scrap the whole 82-game, improved players thing, I'm not going to last 82 games. 29 is the perfect length of season to play before the season starts, and I will be able to play multiple different seasons with different setups. Playoffs works best for me when it's the best of 5, 7 is overkill and 3 is silly.
Decided to start 4 different saves, play with financial rules and don't do trade override even if it appears realistic.
On Trail Blazers save I've traded Plumlee and 2 future 1st round picks for Jahlil Okafor. Wanted Brook Lopez but it would have required me to part with too many assets to match salaries and I did not want to let Turner or Crabbe go. Okafor gives me a scoring center, which is good because I now have two setups - Davis + Okafor where Davis compensates for Okafor's average defense and rebounding, and Aminu + Ezeli. Okafor is lovely to play with and the team has perfect balance now I feel.
On Bucks save I've traded Monroe plus two picks also for Okafor. Amazingly athletic team, will be fun to play and I love their arena design. My family name in Polish is pretty much Buck too (hence the profile picture) which basically obliges me to like them.
On 76ers save I've gone absolutely mental. With so many picks and no desire to develop them for 5 seasons before they get good, I've gone on trading overload. Bayless + 1 pick for Collison (very fun PG to play with), Henderson + Grant + pick for Oladipo (defeeeeeense) and then tried a crazy trade for Paul George - gave them Noel, 76ers 2017 pick, 76ers 2018 pick and Lakers pick. They accepted so now I'm left with Collison, Oladipo, George, Simmons and Okafor/Embiid starting line up. Gonna be properly fun, and I used to like them a lot during Iverson days (well, I was 11 back then).
Another save I have is Chicago Bulls. I am sentimental about them as I used to spend a lot of time in my youth there, my brother lived there for almost 6 years and I would visit him every Summer for 2-3 months. There I did not do much trading a lot as I like their team. Rondo and Wade are very fun to play with, Butler is Butler, Robin Lopez rebounds everything in offense and I like their PF rotation in Gibson and Mirotic.
All are 29-game, wanted to start them all at once but then realized that some players I might want to have in multiple teams (see Okafor at all of Sixers, Bucks and Blazers). I like having multiple saves as it gets boring constantly playing in one way with one team. I'll still probably finish 4 seasons with Blazers on 3 separate saves before any other save gets me to playoffs.
