dude u need to separate journalism from what the boyz at tnt do. the objective of the tnt broadcast is to entertain and thats why they attract a large, non basketball fan base. if they offend ppl in the process, so be it. and what u conveniently ignore is that daquen cook and lebron james were the biggest victims of the tnt verbal assault. lebron was called a coward and the cook kid was written off before he ever took a shot.

And here is where you are wrong, good sir, because most people on this forum already know that I covered the Blazers for three seasons. I worked for ESPN Insider for five years. I did sports journalism in Portland for about seven years total, so try again big man.

Remember when Greg Oden played in a 24 Hour Fitness last season? Yeah... that was me breaking that story :devilwink:

The human is not a 'platform'. There's a reason this idea was used in the NBA dunk contest, because its a lot harder to get footing off a human body and its lot harder to get a good vertical off a human body.

I don't care that Rudy didn't win, but that "back" dunk was pathetic -- if you were impressed by that then you have very low expectations.

Oh my God, I have several black friends. My comment wasn't meant to be taken that seriously, lighten up. However, since you brought up the judges, I do believe I saw the two white judges give him a higher score than the others, take it for what it's worth.

If people on this board want to bring race into the NBA's dresscode rule, then I can at least bring it up in this disgrace of a dunk contest. But I don't think race had anything to do with it.

No, I think I was at the three in that game.... because the two Damon Stoudamire impersonators were the ones jacking up three's instead of passing Greg the rock.... so ya.... pretty much a precursor to how this season was going to go :grin:

I thought Nate's dunk was weak, but JE is right that it is more difficult than it looks. I know plenty of my teammates and friends who have fallen off someone's back.

Nonetheless, I thought it was indeed a terrible dunk.

That must be it, too. My physics book said it takes more force to jump 10 feet in the air than it does to jump 7, apparently it's the other way around. You can't really blame me, it's more Ms. Faigan's fault.

the 10 foot jump is off a hard, wooden surface. The 7 foot jump is off a much softer human body that doesn't provide great footing or resistance to your force.
