Is that better or worse than being a redneck racist piece of shit slamming Schlitz and whooping and hollering at cars making left turn after left turn?

Wrong. Soccer is amazing. It's 100x times better than Basketball or the NFL. (In my opinion)

No one is shoving anything down your throat either. Because covering one of the world's most popular sporting events, proves some sort of agenda... the agenda of writing about what is important and accepted by more of the world than any other sport... Maybe they should only cover your minority viewpoint that soccer sucks.

I'm so excited for the World Cup. It's some of the most dramatic and engaging competition I've ever seen.

I don't know if hearing about a gigantic worldwide event every four years for a while counts as being shoved down your throat, but I can see where you're coming from. I understand that the degree of boredom I experience with baseball is similar to what people can feel about soccer. Heck, there's games I've watched that I've been bored, but the World Cup is a different animal. Love it!

Why would we advertise our fantasy team that we have on ESPN? Obviously it was on this board and we made a post in the Blazer forum to get people to join the league. Obviously you were sitting on your sofa watching Tottenham's open bus parade.

Soccer is average as a sport, but the World Cup is awesome. It's like the Olympics to me. I don't watch track, swimming, curling, etc...etc...unless it's the olympics. Same pretty much goes for Soccer, but I'm on the verge of going to my first Timbers game, and I'll definitely go to Timbers game when they are MLS. Mostly for the environment of it all.

I'll be watching the World Cup for sure.

Look at this week's Time magazine. They do these stories everytime the fucking world cup comes on and its basically just a bunch of articles about how Soccer is "really picking up steam". Then its over and people just continue not giving a fuck about it.

Soccer is amazing as a sport. There are more fantastic, enthralling matches each year between the Premiership, Champions League, Europa Cup, La Liga and Serie A then there are in the MLB, NBA and NFL combined.

The World Cup, while not the BEST football you'll see (That's in the Champs League) is the most fun and dramatic football you'll see. I love it.


I'd say that Germany was the most hated, good team... or Portugal (but they aren't that good)

I need some random quotes I can tell people regarding soccer. Like "oh yeah, (random player) is so overrated since the world finals".

I should start a twitter account with soccer observations...kind of like a cheat sheet for posers.

I hate soccer too. My best friend plays soccer and whenever we talk about it he says it's much more exciting and meaningful. When I watch I get so bored I would rather watch infomercials. It's just an incredibly boring sport to me. I will not watch any of the world cup or anything else. I really don't care that it's in the media though. I mean it is the most popular sport around the world right? Why should I care if I don't like it.

I will say that Rugby should be the most popular worldwide sport. A million times better than soccer.

That's only because it's the cheapest of the team sports to play. Goals can be made out of anything otherwords all you need is a ball. In third world countries thats pretty much the only thing to play.

I find it extremely boring. Just a bunch of frantic behavior that sometimes leads to little or zero scoring.
