Re: OT: Lakers' downfall.

What's most interesting about this loss is that the Lakers' defense completely fell apart in the fourth quarter.

There was no defense to fall apart...The Lakers didnt play any good defense the entire game minus Trevor Ariza

Re: OT: Lakers' downfall.

This is a long season. Every team will have winning streaks (mileage may vary) and every team will get kicked in the teeth for a stretch(again, mileage may vary). Yes, even the Timberwolves will win a few games in a row at some point.

Re: OT: Lakers' downfall.

Rasta beat me to it...it's not so much that they lost on a last-second tip-in (not a huge deal), but that their vaunted defense gave up 118 to Indiana.

I'm not sure that OKC will, though. And it tears my heart to see it.

Re: OT: Lakers' downfall.

Isn't that the same sort of stuff that ruined the other forum? You do realize, even though the Lakers suck, they are our closest competition and banter amongst competition is a good thing.

I was being ironic.

Re: OT: Lakers' downfall.

Michael Jordan wouldn't have lost this game.

Unless he put the team together.

Call it petty on my part, but I'd be happy seeing OKC lose every single game. The city would deserve it. More precisely the owners would.

I would be willing to bet that even OKC has a small winning streak this year. It will happen. I think the team that set the record for futility in the NBA (I think it was 13 wins for the season) even won a few in a row at one point. I think it might have only been 3, but they did.

Re: OT: Lakers' downfall.

I'd be surprised if OKC won more than two in a row this season.

Re: OT: Lakers' downfall.

While rumors of the Lakers' demise are, alas, premature, it is true that they've had a cupcake schedule. One of their "road" games was against the Clippers, so all they had to do was change uniforms. The Clipper game was also their only back to back, and again involved no travel except to the visitors' locker room.

Yes, they've played very well. Sad but true. But they've sure gotten a lot of help. Will they be so dominating on their own (well, they will still play 8 on 5, except maybe against Boston)?

The Lakers have had three back to backs actually...10/28-10/29, 11/11-11/12 and 11/20-11/21...and then tonight will be their 4th.

And the only reason they have the 2nd best record is because they've played fewer games, therefore fewer chances to chalk up wins. Though you could argue as well, that it's few chances to put a loss in the column too.

Re: OT: Lakers' downfall.

9-73 (Philly) is the record in 72-73.

That's ridiculous. If they beat the lowly Pacers last night, they'd have the best record in the league. But they didn't. So they're second. And falling.

The Raptors, are falling, slowly. The Lakers...lost. The Celtics have also, lost. I mean, it's almost impossible to win every game. So lets say the Blazer where in the Lakers position. And they lost to Indy, and I came in here and said they are falling. Do you know what would happen? I'd getting raped in the ass because you would all challenge my knowledge of basketball and call me a troll. So please, the Lakers are better than the Blazers still and one lose by a tip in doesn't mean the team is falling. You're falling...right off your chair...and in to stupidity.

Re: OT: Lakers' downfall.

If this is an L.A. down fall..

...I'd love for us to have this sort of downfall.

Re: OT: Lakers' downfall.

So much for the downfall.

Re: OT: Lakers' downfall.

The Lakers are probably the best team in the NBA, though I hate them. I appreciate what Kingspeed is trying to do, but let not lose track of reality. This season is theirs- in a couple seasons it's ours.

Not to worry- just a question of time. Kobe will slow down, while Roy is ascendant. Oden will be better than Bynum, though both have all star games in their future. and the rest of the team is already better than the rest of the Lakers.

And, just maybe, we sign Kobe in the offseason- kicking the Lakers to the lottery!

Re: OT: Lakers' downfall.

Down 15 to the lowly Kings. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Re: OT: Lakers' downfall.

Lakers are finally playing good teams like the Knicks. Down 11 at home.
