Re: Merged: Who do we root for?

Tonight I'm rooting for New Orleans and Phoenix.

I'm actually kind of hoping that San Antonio loses and Phoenix wins. I'm still clinging to hopes that we can sneak into the top four, and I would like to see the Mavs sink out of the top eight.

The Spurs are playing the Hornets. Phoenix is playing Sacramento. While I have no problem with the Suns passing the Mavs (not likely, but not impossible), I definitely want to see the Hornets lose to give the Blazers a little breathing room.

Of course, Tuesday's game against the Jazz is huge. Regardless of Tuesday's outcome, I just don't see the Jazz finishing ahead of the Blazers. Their schedule is brutal. They have six road games left against really good teams (Portland, Denver, New Orleans, Dallas, San Antonio and the Lakers). The last time they beat a >0.500 team on the road I hadn't finished my Christmas shopping. They also have four remaining back-to-backs and all four are either home/away or away/home.

Still, the Blazers need that win if they hope to catch Denver (and/or Houston).

BNM

Sacto up 11 on the Suns with 7:40 left in the 4th.

Kings beat the Suns.

It's almost official! :ghoti:

Now is the time we can kick Utah into a tail-spin. They play @ US, then @Denver, @New Orleans, @Dallas, @San Antonio, @lakers.. If they win 1 of those games, and all of their remaining home games, that's only 50 wins. I see 50 as their cap.

Not to jinx it or anything but something interesting is happening in the NO-Sacramento game.

fuck, and I was even trying to be careful about, treating it like a no hitter and all.

I think it's interesting that Portland has had more success as a 5th seed than as a 4th seed. Also, they've only been 8th once. Let's get that 3rd seed, at least.

Re: Merged: Who do we root for?

Go Clippers(vs. NO) Go!

Re: Merged: Who do we root for?

and Go Suns(vs. Rockets)Go!

Phoenix is choking

They were up 10 on Houston at the half, now they're losing by four with six minutes left in the third. It's just sad.

Re: Phoenix is choking

Although I will say this, Shaq is the only guy who is still trying. The guy doesn't want to lose.

I do not agree with moving my thread here. It's only timely for another 30 minutes maybe. The ROckets/Suns game is on ESPN, and I think other Blazer fans will want to watch two of the teams that we are competing with. Now it's just buried in this thread, and most people won't see it. Just my two cents :dunno:

Nice numbers Entity. Thanks for putting that together.

And Nate, I love how excited you are about the Blazers and the playoff race these last few days. It's exciting, isn't it?

Man, I forgot what this feels like Eric. I've missed it.

Don't look now, but the Clips are beating New Orleans! (please, no jinx)

Didn't realize the Clippers go-to play down the stretch is Zach jacking up three-pointers. Nice.

ugh so sick of the hornets, just lose already you're already on the ropes, just waiting for the 1st round fizzle

Hey that used to be the Blazers go-to play for the whole game!

Oh brings back great memories. And people were actually arguing for Zach being the better player or an equal to Chris Bosh.

And another note, Mike Dunleavy looks totally defeated.

Funny, on a nite we don't play we drop to 6th from 5th and gain a half game on 4th. :)

Re: Merged: Who do we root for?

Tonight.............Utah or Denver?

Re: Merged: Who do we root for?

Yes, Utah. I'm also happy to see Washington winning.

Not sure anyone is reading this thread, but I guess this is where this belongs. To make it a little easier to look at the remaining schedule of teams in the 2-8 playoff race. I didn't include the Suns because I doubt they'll make it and they certainly won't catch us. In the order of the standings right now.
