utah getting smoked at home vs an under manned golden state team, yikes

For 2nd through 5th Seed
Nuggets (53-27) SAC, @POR... Have tie-breakers over Blazers and Spurs, but not over Rockets.
Rockets (52-28) NOH, @DAL... Have tie-breakers over Blazers, Nuggets, and Spurs.
Blazers (52-28) OKC, DEN... Have tie-breaker over Spurs, but not over Nuggets or Rockets.
Spurs (51-28) @SAC, @GSW, NOH... Have no tie-breakers. Would not have tie-breaker over Hornets if tied and would be 6th.
If the bold is true then why does nba.com have the Spurs ahead of the Rockets when they are tied?
If how they have it listed is true and Spurs, Rockets, and the Blazers remain tied we won't get HCS, correct?
The Rockets and Spurs have tied head-to-head this year. The next tiebreaker between them is division record. San Antonio has played one more game against the division so far than has Houston. The Spurs stand at 9-6, the Rockets 8-6. That's why San Antonio is 3rd right now and Portland 5th. Since both teams have 6 losses, however, the Spurs aren't really ahead until Houston loses another divsion game. If they both finish with 6 division losses Houston would actually win the resultant tie because of a later tiebreaker. So the Spurs are actually behind Houston until Houston loses, no matter what the standings say right now.
3 games, so 8 possible scenarios. Lets say each game was 50/50 these would be the odds of each 1st round matchup;
4/8 SA@POR
1/8 POR@SA
1/8 HOU@POR
1/8 POR@HOU
1/8 POR@NO
SA+HOU loss, we will be playing for #3, meaningless for Denver (unless they have a second round preference between POR/HOU)
Looking at the remaining schedule:
vs Philadelphia W
vs Phoenix W
vs Memphis W
vs Utah W
@ Oklahoma City W
@ Houston L
@ Memphis W
@ San Antonio L
vs LA Lakers W
@ LA Clippers W
vs Oklahoma City W
vs Denver W
10-2 could be attainable, giving us a 54-28 record (giving us a second half record of 29-12). I would have to think that 54 wins gets you a decent playoff seed.
I'd just like to take this moment and toot my own horn. Swap out San Antonio for Philadelphia, and it was pretty dead on.
