Sweet! Kings beat Denver, pushing the Nuggets behind Portland in the loss column!

Re: Denver Lost Tonight

HUGE! As I thought they had a fairly easy schedule..now all we need is Utah to choke on the road and us to take care of bidness on the home court

Re: Denver Lost Tonight

Clearly Portland has no chance to win the division with Denver losing to teams like Sacramento.....er, wait.

Re: Denver Lost Tonight

Hail to the Kings baby

Denvers next six are pretty easy:

Mar. 9 Houston
Mar. 11 Oklahoma City
Mar. 14 Los Angeles Clippers
Mar. 16 New Jersey
Mar. 18 at Memphis
Mar. 20 Washington

Nuggs lose to the worst team in basketball!!!!! SWEET!!!!!!

Jazz will get slowed down by their tough schedule.

We win the division. EASY.

Re: Denver Lost Tonight

Ahhh . . . you beat me to it.

Nice to see one of our rivals struggle with a 13-49 team like we often do (well, I guess 14-49 now)

Thank you Sac-town!!

What a strange week and a half for Denver. Beat the Lakers - afterwards Karl is talking about how this year's Denver team has the swagger of a champion b/c of Chauncy. Then they lose a game they probably feel they should have won vs the Pacers. Melo gets suspended and they drop another to Detroit. Then, they come back home and whack us to stay in 1st place. All's well, right? Wrong, they blow a 20 point lead At Utah and then drop a game you "have to win" at Sacramento tonight.

Wierd, huh?

Re: Denver Lost Tonight

That's life in the wild wild Western Conference.

I agree that we have a shot at the division, but where did this "EASY" adjective come from, Kingspeed? Are you for serious? Have you checked out OUR remaining games lately?

Re: Denver Lost Tonight

Our schedule is cake. I'm so happy we've passed Denver. This rules!!!

Re: Denver Lost Tonight

Except we haven't passed Denver.

The # of losses is more important than the # of wins. And our winning % is actually better than Denvers.

Re: Denver Lost Tonight

Utah is in 1st place as of right now ;)

Re: Denver Lost Tonight

5 game in 8 night road trip coming up for us. where we are now vs denver is pretty irrelevant.

Re: Denver Lost Tonight

This calls for a professional.

Even if we finished 11-9, the Suns would have to go 16-3 just to tie us. And Denver's below us? That's awesome.

We're both 11 games behind....

Games behind is only relevant when both teams have played an equal number of games. When they haven't, winning percentage shows which team has the superior record. Having an extra win and an extra loss isn't a good thing...that's a .500 record over the extra two games played. .500 is worse than either team's winning percentage.

Even if you want to be "technical" about how the NBA records it, winning percentage breaks "games behind" ties. So in all standings, the Blazers are placed ahead of the Nuggets.

It's cool to be contrary to combat "homerism," but to do it to combat logic or facts doesn't make sense.

Even if we went 10-10, the suns would have to go on a serious win streak correct?

Exactly. Denver is currently in 7th place.

Someone needs to learn the game before posting.

Re: Merged: Who do we root for?

my first concern is getting in. so root for who ever is playing PHX for now. once we are in, i'll worry about seeding.

Off the topic of the Western Conference: The Charlotte Bobcats? They've won six in a row and are sitting one game out of the eighth seed in the East.

Re: Who to root for tonight?

I've always made fun of people who say, "You should merge this thread with another." BUT, i started a thread about this yesterday. Maybe we should just keep one going because we will be asking this question EVERY night for the next 5 weeks!

Speaking of merging, is this related to the playoff race topic enough to merge them? I'd say yes myself.

Trading Richardson for Bell and Diaw has improved them significantly. I think they'll make the playoffs.
