Blame Mark Few for being one of the worst x's and o's coaches ever

Brought his best player and the best prospect the program has ever seen off the bench all season and made him bang down low alongside Karnofski. He is the American Porzingas.

He misused Collins for sure. But, the offense Few runs is actually pretty damn effective. I think Few was purposely not showcasing Collins because he wanted him to stay and doesn't want to become a factory mill for one and doners.

That Collins outside jumper looks SLOW to me. Like Meyers slow. Easy to close out on and sag off from.
It looks as slow because he brings the ball up just as fast as Meyers. However, the ball has to travel a much smaller distance for Collins because he has a compact stroke (Meyers brings the ball up far away from his body, further slowing his shooting speed).

Watch Collins shoot in game action. He'll have no problem getting shots off.

Just sayin good coaches fit their scheme to a player's strengths I'm convinced Few just had no idea what he had in collins and he was a team player all year until he turned it up for the turney. Then everyone was able to see just how good he really was.

Gonzaga hardcore fans knew how good he was. If you watched all the games this year it was obvious that he does stuff as a 7ft'er that you can't teach. It was no surprise at all to me when he burst onto the scene during the tourney.

He was Few's first ever McDonalds All-American. He knew what he had.

Fair enough. I just don't see that he has to work as a stretch 4 to work with Nurk. I can see both of them trading off in the high post and post while the guards are the deep threats.

They could play many different ways and styles together.

Meyers bends at the knees before every set shot like he's a little bitch who hardly has enough strength to shoot from that deep.

Back to the rumor, how do we actually get up to 7?

I don't want to give up all three picks just to move up for Collins. Want more shots on goal if he busts.

I just think you lose credibility as a coach if you dont play the best players. Few played his upperclassmen over his best player that to me says Few chose politics over production. I watched a few games this season Collins and mostly he was just a pretty nice player but he took his game up a notch when the lights were on. What really changed my view of him was watching him work/shoot and listening to him in pre-draft interviews. He's a smart kid and an obvious gym rat two qualities that fit hand in glove with our franchise.

I don't think he's much of a threat to bust. His rebounding and shot blocking can translate immediately. He already better than someone like Noah and on a cheap contract, which this team desperately needs.

Politics over production? Brah, they were within minutes of winning the national championship. In college basketball you win with veteran leadership unless you have like 3 freshman who are going top 10 in the draft. Williams-Goss was the best player on that team. Does it make him the best pro prospect? No. Thats not how it works in college basketball. Karnowski ate up the middle, was a great passing big and had soft touch. He won the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar award for best college center for a reason.

I don't think Collins would trade his decision to go to Gonzaga over again. He went to the Championship game and is going to be a lotto pick.

Please give them 20 + 26 + Meyers for 7.... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.

A league source told the Express-News that Portland Trail Blazers would execute a trade for Aldridge to reunite him with star Damian Lillard. Aldridge, who played nine seasons in Portland, but left the Blazers in 2015 to sign with the Spurs. The Blazers haven’t closed the door completely on a possible return. The team would be willing to complete a trade for Aldridge for matching salary only, according to a league source.

Actually scratch that, if we manage to get up to #7 and still have a pick on our hands, I'd package those two and a future pick to move up to #4 or higher. Send that pick along with Harkless/Aminu/Crabbe for Porzingis and Melo.
That could be Neil's plan.

That might not be far off....

Celtics apparently going hard after Porzingis right now and they can offer way more than we could so I think the Porzingis wish has sailed
