See my post before thatPorzingis can score off the dribble. Can Collins?
Blame Mark Few for being one of the worst x's and o's coaches ever
Brought his best player and the best prospect the program has ever seen off the bench all season and made him bang down low alongside Karnofski. He is the American Porzingas.
It looks as slow because he brings the ball up just as fast as Meyers. However, the ball has to travel a much smaller distance for Collins because he has a compact stroke (Meyers brings the ball up far away from his body, further slowing his shooting speed). That Collins outside jumper looks SLOW to me. Like Meyers slow. Easy to close out on and sag off from.
Just sayin good coaches fit their scheme to a player's strengths I'm convinced Few just had no idea what he had in collins and he was a team player all year until he turned it up for the turney. Then everyone was able to see just how good he really was.He misused Collins for sure. But, the offense Few runs is actually pretty damn effective. I think Few was purposely not showcasing Collins because he wanted him to stay and doesn't want to become a factory mill for one and doners.
send "us" over the edge, or you over the edge?Zach Collins might send over the edge

They could play many different ways and styles together.Fair enough. I just don't see that he has to work as a stretch 4 to work with Nurk. I can see both of them trading off in the high post and post while the guards are the deep threats.

Thibs fwiw, has liked Turner for a while now.

Watch Collins shoot in game action. He'll have no problem getting shots off.
I just think you lose credibility as a coach if you dont play the best players. Few played his upperclassmen over his best player that to me says Few chose politics over production. I watched a few games this season Collins and mostly he was just a pretty nice player but he took his game up a notch when the lights were on. What really changed my view of him was watching him work/shoot and listening to him in pre-draft interviews. He's a smart kid and an obvious gym rat two qualities that fit hand in glove with our franchise.Gonzaga hardcore fans knew how good he was. If you watched all the games this year it was obvious that he does stuff as a 7ft'er that you can't teach. It was no surprise at all to me when he burst onto the scene during the tourney.
He was Few's first ever McDonalds All-American. He knew what he had.
Back to the rumor, how do we actually get up to 7?
I don't want to give up all three picks just to move up for Collins. Want more shots on goal if he busts.

As much as I love the idea, I think asking for a stud defensive backup center on a great contract along with a top 10 pick is getting a tad greedy. All right! Turner plus 20 and 26 for Cole Aldrich and 7.

A league source told the Express-News that Portland Trail Blazers would execute a trade for Aldridge to reunite him with star Damian Lillard. Aldridge, who played nine seasons in Portland, but left the Blazers in 2015 to sign with the Spurs. The Blazers haven’t closed the door completely on a possible return. The team would be willing to complete a trade for Aldridge for matching salary only, according to a league source.
That could be Neil's plan.Actually scratch that, if we manage to get up to #7 and still have a pick on our hands, I'd package those two and a future pick to move up to #4 or higher. Send that pick along with Harkless/Aminu/Crabbe for Porzingis and Melo.
BarelyExactly. He's a mixture of a traditional PF and an old school PF. He has both.
@Mediocre Man would you be fine with getting him because he's a WABPF and not a WABC?

Celtics apparently going hard after Porzingis right now and they can offer way more than we could so I think the Porzingis wish has sailed
