Re: Did Shaq really call Oden

He was misquoted. The real "Big Disappontment" is a veteran team with two former MVPs failing to make the play-offs.

This is a team with a combined 32 all-star game appearances, 3 former ROYs, 3 MVP awards and a ton of play-off experience. Yet, last night with the play-offs on the line, they got blown out and embarassed on national TV by a bunch of inexperienced, young upstarts. Yeah, I'd be disappointed, too.

Re: Shaq disses Oden

Shaq dissed David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Yao Ming, Dwight Howard...omg, look how they turned out. Good news for Oden!

Big yawn. Shaq has a history of dissing anyone who's not Shaq - be they opponents, former teammates or former coaches.

Doesn't really matter. In the end, the Blazers will make the play-offs and the Suns won't. So, as a Blazers fan, I just have one thing to say to Shaq.

Shaq, tell me how my ass tastes!

can't argue with him. Greg will get there soon!

Ya, I don't see anything wrong with that. In his own way he is just saying he's a rookie now, not a vet. What's to argue about?

As others have said the Joel thing is bs, but I think it's his own sign of respect for Joel. Trying to get in his head.

I'm sorry, are you saying squishing Joel's head between the floor and an NBA regulation-sized basketball is a sign of respect?

Shaq's a dominant pre-game demonstration organizer. He'll have all offseason to practice that, too.

Ed O.

Loved how Shaq was looking at Gentry in the fourth quarter to let him back in, and he never did get back in since the coach threw in the towel at the end of the third.

In the same article he did speak highly of the Blazers.

O’Neal sang the praises of the Trail Blazers. “Those guys are good,” he said. “They’re going to grow up together. What do they need? Nothing. I think they have it all. They’re young, but they play together.”

Can they win a playoff series?

“Yes,” he said. “No reason they can’t.”

Let it bake. :)

Thought I'd beat a certain someone to it.

I think that with Shaq, you have to realize the whole Shogun/Ninja thing is a big joke of his. He always jokes about how he is the Shogun, and you have to battle his Ninja's before you get to him. He has joked about this for years since Yao came into the league, and said the same thing when he came in. When Shaq came into the league, there were many battles where Ewing, and Olajuwan both were dominant against him for a few years. I remember some pretty crazy battles where him and Ewing were going at each other, scoring on each other in consecutive posessions and screaming "I am the man" after each bucket. Eventually I remember when Ewing was getting old and Shaq was hitting his stride, that Shaq eventually dominated him. All Shaq is saying, is you have to earn your stripes. Oden has to win some battles. The respect will come after.

Who on that team can still ball? Richardson? Stoudemire is injured. Nash is a shadow. Grant Hill isn't even really starter material. Shaq still has some game, but he can't carry a team anymore.

Terry Porter must have been loving that!! Really though it doesn't matter what Shaq says he's gonna be watching the playoff's from home with the kids this year...
