You guys rock. What a fun season. No complaints, no excuses. The team did much more than most of us anticipated. Muchas gracias.

Go Blazers!

I agree it was a great year and the start of a new era in Blazer playoff basketball.

Re: Thanks Blazers for a Great Season!

I'm looking forward to the offseason. I can't wait to see what KP does.

Re: Thanks Blazers for a Great Season!

We'll win near 60 next season and we'll win at least a round. We're right on schedule. Unfortunately, Houston and Dallas were the last teams we wanted to meet in the playoffs. We should've played New Orleans. Mike Finley's three shouldn't have counted.

Re: Thanks Blazers for a Great Season!

You guys shouldn't be down at all. This was just a learning experience which this group will build on for the next decade. Future looks bright and Blazer fans should be proud of how their team exceeded most people's expectations and ended up winning 50+ games. Things will only get better from here on out.

I bet he doesn't do much. I bet he just lets these guys learn from the experience and grow naturally together next year.

I'm very disappointed in Travis though. I thought he would be a big time player in the playoffs.

Yup, well said. I'm not mad at all. I'm happy for how well they have played on the season as a whole.

Re: Thanks Blazers for a Great Season!

You definitely beat me to this thread.

What an AMAZING SEASON!!!! EPIC!!! 54 regular season wins, in and of itself, is BEYOND most of our expectations.

I love this team. I love our future. I love our fans. I love the RG.

Looking forward to next season, guys. Just awesome!!!! We should all feel very good about what the Blazers have accomplished being the YOUNGEST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE!!!!!

(minus Raef).

lol

GO BLAZERS!!! SO PROUD OF MY TEAM!!!!

Re: Thanks Blazers for a Great Season!

This season exceeded my expectations. I'm so happy that we are on the right track!

Re: Thanks Blazers for a Great Season!

So many great memories from this season. Roy's buzzer beater against Houston. Roy going off for 52. Etc Etc.

Should be a fun off-season. The wait will be sooooo long.

Re: Thanks Blazers for a Great Season!

And so it ends for another year. I'm more than satisfied.

Re: Thanks Blazers for a Great Season!

Hey, we all felt we'd be lucky to get #8 in the playoffs.

Now we're like the spoiled children, wanting it all...because we expect it all to happen.

Ain't it grand?

This team is fantastic. Thanks guys...

Re: Thanks Blazers for a Great Season!

Before the season started, I had us at 55 wins and an exit in the second round. But I'm plenty ok with how things turned out--sometimes when your expectations aren't met, it's because you expect too much. If Oden had come back at just 80% of what I'd hoped, they could've done it.

The most critical thing I'm taking away from these playoffs is that Aldridge and Roy are the real deal. Those two are going to be key players in many championship runs to come.

And hey, at least we don't have to worry about either guy being the next Shareef Abdur Rahim. The stats they put up led to the playoffs, and they pulled off a couple of wins.

Re: Thanks Blazers for a Great Season!

Great season. They played above my expectations, so they succeeded. They'll be even better next year. Let's get a starting point guard, and a decent big man coach.

Re: GOOD JOB KP

Agreed, KP has done an excellent job of assembling a young and competitive team that is successful and ahead of it's rebuilding schedule while at the same time filled with High character guys who are a credit to our community. To have done all that and also have positioned us to have significant cap space and multiple draft picks this offseason is nothing short of amazing.

unless, of course, you're trying to be sarcastic, but that would be fucking idiotic.

Hah! Awesome!

Re: Thanks Blazers for a Great Season!

I remember thinking people like you had way too high of expectations, but I was wrong, you were so close. I truly think we would have beat the Spurs or Hornets, which would make your prediction dead on.

Re: Thanks Blazers for a Great Season!

Awesome year! The beginning of another 23 year playoff run? I don't know but the decade ahead looks good to me.

Re: Thanks Blazers for a Great Season!

Bitter ending, but fantastic season. There's plenty of good things to build on and the flexibility to tweak the roster to fix weaknesses. We're going to be winning a lot of games for years to come.

2008-2009 BLAZERS

Great season!

Nate should have been coach of the year, IMO, for growing with the team and at least partially adapting an uptempo offense that really utilized the wide array of talent we have.

Unfortunately, he backpedalled in the playoffs, and did not stick to the game and rotations that got us here, and that left many players in line-ups that did not match their abilities, poor chemistry, and awkward ball and player movement.

Had we treated the playoffs like any other game(s), we'd be playing the Lakers next.

Absolutely no reason to touch the top 12 guys at all (Martell + actives - Ruffin), and all we need is for Channing to toughen up a tad or be replaced (Joel Freeland?).

Next year we run with Sergio leading and continue our 20+pts blowout trend we started this year.

Maybe by next playoffs Nate will have learned to trust his players more and won't feel the need to second-guess them.

BAKE IT!

Re: 2008-2009 BLAZERS

Great season!!! Way overachieved!
This loss was bound to happen, either to houston or the lakers..we weren't winning the title this year anyways..
Upgrade PG....trade rudy/martell for a vet SF to mentor batum and just grow, and we'll push 60 wins!
In KP WE TRUST!!!!
Surprisingly, I'm not devastated after this loss..maybe because it was over in the 2nd or b/c we had our chances in Game1 (Home game) and Game 4(4th quarter lead)

Re: 2008-2009 BLAZERS

Fantastic season, even though this loss was tough to swallow.

As much as I'd like to just "bake it" as well, I can't help but dream of landing someone like Prince this offseason and win a few series in the 2010 playoffs. Wow... 2010 seems like a long time from now.

Re: Thanks Blazers for a Great Season!

After all of the bullshit over the last several seasons, it's nice to finally be back to something respectable. Houston needed this series more than Portland did. It was enough to get this far. I'm going to go take a break.

Re: 2008-2009 BLAZERS

Yeah, it was a great season. The team exceeded expectations, so despite the unfortunate ending, it was a very nice season and the prospect of the team being even better next year is very exciting.

The off-season should be a lot of fun. Hopefully Pritchard does a bit of dealing.

Re: Thanks Blazers for a Great Season!

Yep, great season that exceeded expectations to finish with the No. 4 seed in a tough Western Conference. Next season, the expectations should be winning a playoff series and I have no doubt that with the other teams aging another season, we'll do it.

Re: Thanks Blazers for a Great Season!

Great season. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks Blazers.

Thank you Portland for continuing to exceed expectations. Don't let this series loss get you down too much; this still is, after all, the youngest team in the league.

KP has his work cut out for him once again this off-season. Tons of very difficult decisions to make.
