Re: Who is KP?

Why would KP pose as a Lakers fan...that would totally throw people off his track...oh wait.

He would start a thread telling fans to be patient...oh wait

Furthermore the GM would be able to win the prediction game because he would know his team best. I havent won the prediction game twice or anything...oh....damn

I wouldnt tell you I was KP if I was anyways... :devilwink:

He would also know the clock stops on a foul, so we can move on to new candidates. Thanks for playing, though!

Of course he would, but wouldnt acting like he had a brain fart even throw more people off his track. Who cares if his alias of some fake schmuck Laker fan in Torrance was ragged on...

So we're clear though, the clock does stop on a foul.

Cool . . . with my montly win total I must be Jerry West.

Who should I give the Lakers this year . . .

Re: Who is KP?

All I can say is................nevermind!

Re: Who is KP?

KP . . . if you are reading this . . . an explanation email with an implied apology would be the right thing to do.

Eat some crow, be humble, let the league know you were embarrassed by the whole thing. . . then quietly stick it to the GMS with your trades.

So, Does KP Post Here? (Canzano's Piece On "Golden Boy..."

From: Canzano's Column

T he NBA's golden boy arrived at the Rose Garden on Saturday in a silver Acura MDX. He wore a gray pinstriped suit, had a fresh haircut, and a light purple dress shirt to go with a dark purple tie.

It's not lost on anyone that Trail Blazers general manager Kevin Pritchard has a blank check for an owner. And that the three drafts Pritchard handled for Portland he was given the resources to land five lottery picks. And also, the GM has Jeff Ma, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology card-counting genius responsible for "Bringing Down the House," writing computer-algorithms for his scouting database.

So, yeah, basically there's an old-guard NBA faction that would love to see this guy walk into a five-star restaurant and sit down in a chair sometime that splintered and buckled underneath him.

Portland beat Golden State 113-100 on Saturday. Afterward, Pritchard left the Rose Garden arena with his girlfriend, Marlene, a teacher and former Blazers dancer. And so yeah, basically, when the rest of the league saw an opportunity to squash Pritchard's summer 2009 salary-cap flexibility by signing Darius Miles to a 10-day contract, it was going to get done.

Said one Western Conference GM of Pritchard on Saturday: "(Bleep) that guy, he's walking around rubbing everyone's nose in the deals he's made and even with all those lottery players his team is still not in the playoffs.

"There was a line of guys in the league waiting to sign D. Miles if Memphis didn't."

What we have here, see, isn't so golden...................

..............It's not lost here that Pritchard is also a rabid Blazers fan. He reads every word written by local and national media about the team. He comes home from games and pores over the fan message boards, too. And on Saturday he admitted that he even posts on the Internet fan forums under an alias, because he simply can't help himself.

The big surprise this week isn't that Memphis, and others, were ready to take on Miles and make life difficult for Portland. But rather, why anyone paying attention would have been shocked to see someone eager to stand in Pritchard's way.

On Saturday, asked about the target on his chest, Pritchard said, "They probably see that we're winning, and it's the whole organization they see in a position to have success."...

and I doubt he posts here. This forum is too new and too small, how would he even hear about it.

I think I saw that the word "two" was banned over at BBF to keep posters from finding out about this place.

Sorry. I should have looked around a bit more.

If he was over at bbf at all (which I wouldn't doubt if he looks at blazer forums), then he knows about this place. EVERYONE from bbf came over.

I'm suprised a "western conference GM" would trust Crapzano and say something like that.

HCP is KP! :)

Instead, other league executives are asking stuff like, "Did that (bleep) really coin (the phrase) 'Pritch-slapped' by himself?"

(No. He didn't. The term was born in the mind of a Blazers fan after a series of Pritchard personnel moves. But you get the idea.)

Ouch, someone really didn't like getting Pritch-slapped. I imagine you only really hear that a lot when your own fans tell you that it happened to you. Or maybe our fans. ;)

KP didn't send the email. Why should he apologize for it? He has no control over the business of the team.

LOL...take the side of GMs who have made bad deals with KP. Typical of the franchise...

that quote is pretty accurate

It's sour grapes. We will be in the playoffs this year, so that guy can shove it

Said Chris Wallace, owner of just as many lottery picks...

You are LOL because it is typical of the franchise to take the side of GMs who have made bad deals with KP????

I think you are getting a little delirious . . .

You said KP should apologize for an email that his boss sent.

:dunno:

KP said he was part of the discussion to send out the email. He should be part of the discussion to send out an implied apology email.

You responded:

I'm still trying to figure out that response . . .

There should be no response. I think they will backup what they said in the email and if Memphis only keeps Miles for one more 10 day contract and only plays Miles 2-3 games for a few minutes each game the Blazers will take legal action against Memphis, the NBA and maybe more. I rather they wouldn't have sent the email but it's PA team and he can do what he thinks is best for his investment/team.

Re: Who is KP?

KP is obviously obsessed with cakes and how to bake them. It's crandc.

If that's the case, I'm doing a hell of a job making up a cover story (living in Oakland, working at a large company, not to mention female, Jewish, gay - I know KP is not the first two but not sure of the third), making up game time conversations with Rice - even inventing cats as cover! Damn, I should work for the CIA (just kidding).

Kevin- having met you at two games and not picked up on your true identity, I've got to say that your disguises are unbelievable... you should be a spook.

I am sure Paul Allen has a cover story budget. :D

Does anyone else think that the guy Canzano was quoting was either Mark Warkentein or Mike Dunleavy? Both of whom have an axe to grind with POR and Allen anyway?

Regardless this is a stupid article....

So another GM is pissed with Pritchard for the phrase "Pritch Slap"?...a phrase he niether created or endorses? Give me a break....A little thin skinned perhaps?

and quite frankly...other GM's can whine about Allen's money and buying picks and lucking into the #1 pick...but the bottom line is Pritchard still had to make the correct picks...and to date he seems to have done just that....It appears to me that there is a particular GM or 2 that are just petty and jealous of Pritchard's success and that is on them not on Pritchard....

It's BS anyway.

It's a cliche that the NBA is a business. This is capitalism. If you're running a business you do all you can to push an advantage over your competitiors.

Some teams, Orlando, Miami, LA, Phoenix, have advantage of warm weather all winter. Some have no state income tax, which saves the players money. LA, NY, Chicago are major media markets. And a few teams (LA, Cleveland, Miami) have a mega star which guarantees the team will be on national TV at least once a week.

Portland is a small city, it is not renowned for the best nightlife in the world, it is not home to national media. It rains all winter. Roy, Aldridge, Oden are not yet the TV draws that Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are.

Their big advantage is the owner's deep pockets and the smarts of the GM.

So they should not push that advantage? I bet teams in LA and Miami sure push their warm winters!

PS, Stomp, you see, maybe you should have gone for that drink with me after the GSW game, alcohol loosens the tongue, you know. No telling what I might have revealed after I took off my female disguise!
