Merged: Who would you give up for Paul George? (1 Viewer)

As long as Kevin is ok on living on the outside. But they are both 6-10 above whose strengths are similar. Nurkic is a better shot blocker. But they both can get it done from inside and outside. I guess I'm wondering from an athleticism standpoint. Would we be giving anything up up front.
Kevin Love is closer to 6'8 than 6'10.

#15 + #26 + Hark + Ezeli.

They clear cap, got a young replacement for PG and got the 2 picks they want.

We keep the #20 to draft a backup Big.

It makes almost too much sense

Whose strengths are similar? Love prefers a perimeter role on offense although he has the ability to score down low while Nurkic should never leave the rim. No idea how they cannot be a good pair. Just because they are both great rebounders it doesn't mean they cannot play well together :P I cannot find a more ideal pairing for Nurk than a guy with the skillset of Love.

We are all just hoping something exciting comes along to get us hyped, shit even me but PG here wouldn't be the right move. Dude would leave. As much as I wanna see him play with dame and cj it's just a dream. It would still be tough to compete with warriors even with that lineup. The odds would be against us. Makes sense for Cleveland though with the possibility of Lebron leaving next season as well. Don't know if he will but they are in a win now situation. Blazers are more long term right now but it's tough because dame and cj are in their prime but that's the shitty spot the NBA is in. Where 4-5 years of cavs-warriors just keeps happening. In the west I don't even know who competes with warriors besides maybe spurs. The east has nobody to compete with Cleveland. Maybe Boston in a year or two. I really hope we can dethrone the warriors but fuck that's a good team

The most we should consider is entering this trade as a third team to send additional assets to Indiana and get something nice back in return. If Cleveland wanted to send us Kevin Love, and we'd have to add Crabbe and two picks so they could take Paul George, I'd consider that deal. After recent developments and George basically confirming he wants to join Lakers in 2018 free agency, I'd not give up any serious assets for a one-year rental.

I think he could well move to Lakers this offseason. They won't offer #2 pick for him but could well offer one of Russell, Ingram or Randle (to him they'd have to attach another player or no. 28 pick at very least).

This Indiana writer proposes crabbe, 15, and 20 for George. Just interesting to get an outside perspective.

Done. I'll take that risk of PG walking. At the worst, we lose PG next summer and also rid ourselves of the AC contract.

And look dumb when Anunoby becomes next Leonard and Giles is a superstar at Indiana.

I'll take that risk in hopes that we have enough to retain PG. Like OG, but his knees scare me. And let's not even get into Giles' knee issues.

If he truly wants to win as he has said, he won't find a better core than Dame-CJ-Nurk to partner with in LA.

Thing is, he might. They will have Ball, Russell and Ingram - three exciting young talents, and are IMO very likely to acquire Cousins or another high profile free agent in free agency. Ball-Russell-Ingram-George-Cousins is a very good core.

Why are they likely to acquire another high profile free agent? Who was the last high profile free agent signed by the Lakers? Any in the past 20 years?

Lonzo is not going to Lakers

Ball unproven
Russell unproven
Ingram unproven
Cousins not on team

Nothing at this point. I'd give up nothing. He's going to be a L*ker.

Neither Russell or Ingram have shown to be any sort of foundational piece yet, and I'm skeptical on Ball. A point guard that can't create a shot or beat someone off a dribble doesn't really intrigue me.

BTW, the guy who just forced the Pacers' hand (PG's agent, Aaron Mintz) also represents our very own Meyers Leonard and Allen Crabbe.

Just sayin.

Can he do the same with Olshey and Meyers?

Apparently, 2/3 of the respondents would deal Crabbe and 2 picks for George even with the caveat of him being guaranteed to leave after one year.

I wonder how many of the people voting on the poll actually listen to the show, because their tweet doesn't quite communicate the intention of their poll very well. IMO, you trade picks for George with the hope of being able to keep him if he elevates the Blazers to contender status. Absent that slim possibility, you don't make that move.

I just love that there are blazers fans that would still find something to complain about if we got PAUL GEORGE without touching our core. That's hilarious to me.

Even though the homer in me is strong and I'd love to believe that it's possible to get George for late first round picks and bench players, every time I try to envision Indiana being that desperate I start giggling.

If we can swing a deal for PG, you go all in and get Melo as well.

Dame/CJ/PG/Melo/Nurk would have a shot in the WCFs. No way PG will leave then.

Do you want 'Melo, or do you want Love? Because I think Cleveland would prefer 'Melo to Love, and I think I'd prefer Love to 'Melo.

Either would work. I like Melo in big game situations, but Love is younger. Both would serve the exact same role.
