Merged: Why is Oden in Indiana?

Man he's hopping around on one fucking leg up the stairs?...And we think this guy is going to pick up where he left off earlier this season? He was timid as hell when he got hurt before. He probably won't trust his body again any sooner than us. Hopefully in the summer he can make some serious strides or we're screwed.

That's just it--because Pritchard doesn't make him do any light exercising on small weights, Oden will return to us at the zero point, timid about using his leg. Since the impetus to work is not coming from within Oden, it must come from outside him, from authority. We are several months after the surgery and there is no progress because there is no effort, from either Oden or his boss Pritchard. Yet people post here that he's too sensitive to do any work. He'll come back the same as last season--out of shape, out of breath, and get injured again from trying to suddenly work again. You have to start months in advance, and Pritchard doesn't seem to know this.

I heard Oden's interview on the The Game today on "The Greg Oden Show". He showed up late, and he had the personality of a burlap sack during his "show". As I've said earlier, get this guy some Xanax or Wellbutrin.

He showed up an hour late to his previous interview, too. All he has to do is call in to the radio show, since he's not there in person.

Accounting error. My "employer" continues to pay me, even though I quit months ago.

I knew all along you were getting paid. You can count on me not to tell Denny, but I can't vouch for anyone else.

OMG, It's Dr. Cox.

How the fuck did I never realize this before? I've been watching Scrubs for years, and have seen Office Space tons of times.

Whoa.

Don't feel to bad I didn't notice it tell about three years ago when I was watching office space on TnT. Office space is one of my favorite movies and Scrubs is one of my favorite shows, so its safe to say I felt retarded when it dawned on me lol.

This thread makes me ask the question: "Where the fuck is Joel?"

I heard he tries to avoid any buildings that have showers in them.

oh lord... for 4 months?

It's not unusual. If you've ever had a major knee injury, the last thing that returns is trust in the joint.

On the flip side, NBA, you've been warned:

Q: People are upset at Amar'e Stoudemire's physical play. What would you do if you were playing?

A: Doing the same thing. It's the playoffs. I think guys come out there and they just turn up the physicalness. Everyone wants to give cheap shots and just get the adrenaline. I know guys sometimes do that for their teams, to get them going. I'm mad he's doing that against us and I wish I was out there to hit him with one back. If I was out there I would probably be doing the same thing.

Man he's hopping around on one fucking leg up the stairs? Just what we need is him tumbling down the stairs backwards and tearing an ACL. Can anyone imagine watching a 7'0 285lb guy trying to hop up the stairs on one leg, it's ludicrous. And we think this guy is going to pick up where he left off earlier this season? He was timid as hell when he got hurt before. He probably won't trust his body again any sooner than us. Hopefully in the summer he can make some serious strides or we're screwed.

He's not hopping; he's stepping up with one leg and then bringing the other up to the same step.

OT - Joel is in town. I saw him the other day. He was walking OK, but he must of had a brace on his knee because he was keeping his leg straight while walking, not bending the knee.

Maybe he just had to poop, but couldn't get to a bathroom?

B-Edge forgot to ask Greg quite possible the most important question that's on everybody's mind:

"HOW ARE THE DREADS COMING ALONG?"

SMH

At first I was worried that Oden is still iffy on his knee.

Following surgery, the knee usually will be immobilized in a brace. Weight bearing and walking are permitted as tolerated as soon as possible after surgery. Exercises to strengthen important muscles of the leg are begun immediately and range of motion exercises are begun at 4 to 6 weeks after surgery. A healed fracture and a strong quadriceps muscle permit a return to vigorous activity in 6 months.

It's been five months and it seems he's right on schedule.

Oden said he is not doing any cardio for rehabilitation right now. Muscle work is it.

Oden said there is no timeframe for his return, but he does expect to be ready for 2010-11 training camp.

Oden said he plans to do most of his rehabilitation in Indiana this summer.

Oden said team gave him OK to take a break from rehab, return to Indiana and “clear his head.”

Man, this guy is really fragile (both meanings of the word).

Do you think Durant's performance has anything to do with him needing to "Clear his head" again?

I cleared mine in the shower this morning!
