Meyers can help Blazers advance by miles (advanced round playoffs)

"Myle's" (which sounds like your making him into Miley Cyrus by the way)
I coined MyLe years ago, for that very reason. If he ever starts playing like an NBA player, he can have a man's name back.

M-Leo? How about "MyLe"--pronounced "Miley". Until he shows himself to be tougher than Hannah Montana, I think that's his nickname.

Before designing a nickname, I will need to know whether you spell it spas (the way I learned decades ago in junior high school, back when "uncoordinated" had a hyphen) or spaz (the new internet way).

Those middle schoolers were mean to me. And I was 39!

Okay, so you really think that "Myle's" (which sounds like your making him into Miley Cyrus by the way) contribution of 10-12 points a game is going to make a difference for us? That's basically what you're saying. I think he's a liability on the court not only because of his defense but his spacing as well. The dude's got a natural gift that he is using to stand in a f****** corner all game instead of helping his team out and trying to get a rebound like a real contributor does. I'm not trying to be a troll or a pessimist like I am sounding like. I used to love Meyers. I used to love the thought of having someone on the team that could spread the floor, but the return we are getting for our investment in having a 3 and sleep guy on the team is not good enough at this point to justify saying he would contribute in a positive way at all.
huh?

No. This is just noting what Jusuf has achieved and encouraging MyLe to continue the momentum. Can't you imagine MyLe running the same plays in the paint? If you offered the same kind of comments that show great confidence for Jusuf to MyLe, you can be rewarded with success. Jusuf is thriving on fan enthusiasm, and MyLe might also. Try looking at the possibilities and the future can look brighter.

Because magically Meyers, after 5 years, is going to do that. And he's had 5 years of possibilities, and now we've got him for four years of futility. He is what he is. Okay. Occasionally remembers that he's on a basketball court and the orange thing is used to be productively put in the basket. But way more often than not, he's a (bubba gump shrimping boat size) net minus on just about everything.

My words, confident or pessimistic, aren't going to affect him on the court. Stop trying to think our words actually affect him on the court. He either has it, or he doesn't. And for about 80% of his minutes, he's a detriment to the team.

I didn't bother reading much more than the first post but let me say this:

Can we stop we this BS ? Butters flat-out sucks. He will NEVER be good.

Meyers Leonard makes Travis Knight look like Dikembe Mutumbo.

He is currently the worst starter in the league, I would even trade him for Randy Foye. He is so bad that words cannot really describe the situation. Probably the worst player to ever play the game and definitely the worst that got a 40M contract.

I would trade him for a jar of pickles. And that would be the steal of the year. Over the Nurk trade

Meyers Leonard can advance the Blazers in the remaining games of the regular schedule and playoffs. With Jusuf Nurkic, there has been a lot of progress, and in my view, Meyers can make a major contribution.

Meyers needs to have a positive thought nickname, and I propose MyLe (say MyLee) to signify that he can help us advance by miles (into rounds of the playoffs).

MyLe has studied and can run the pick and roll offense that Jusuf has demonstrated can lead to 30 or more points of offense from the Center. Here is what I see MyLe doing to score 15-30 points per 36 min.

From the screen pick and roll to run through the paint, the Center can get a return pass that leads to a dunk, layup, reverse, or hook shoot in the paint, scoring 8-12 points per game. When not open for a pass, getting to the basket allows for offensive rebound putbacks in addition. From the drives through the paint, he will earn another 3-6 points in free throws.

From the spaced offense with ball movement, MyLe can contribute 9-12 points per game from 3 point shots, and should avoid taking the midrange shots that account for a large fraction of his misses. Points scored to expect are thus 20-30 per game. On defense, MyLe needs to have hands high enough to cause the shooter to change the trajectory of his shot; when he does this, he causes a lot of missed shots and gets blocks.

Until Jusuf can return, MyLe can advance the Blazers miles into the playoffs. Let's be optimistic!
How about a simple M L (My Luck)

I get the OP's point....to a point.

Leonard hasn't really had a big show him what can be done. Sure he had Kaman who could educate him on positioning and such, but Kaman was older and word down. Slow. Nurk is super quick. Leonard could absolutely gain from watching Nurks footwork, spinning and just how he uses his body down in the paint.

What the OP is missing is its in the head. Meyers is a computer. He lacks instincts. He has to process and come up with what he thinks is the best percentage play to make and it takes too much time.
Until he stops thinking and just goes, he will not improv on anything. Unfortunately he has had almost 5 years to figure this out, and I dont think you can flip the switch on how you process information like that. In this environment, I think we are very much what we are from the outset and there is little that can be done to change how someone process information and then makes a decision. Its easy to improve footspeed, but how do you speed up mental processing?

The idea in the OP that calling Meyer's MyLe would be some kind of positive nickname made me LOL. People here have been calling him that for years. And not in a good way. Honestly, now I know you're trolling.

I have always wished Stotts would use Meyers more like he uses Nurkic. If Meyer's is indeed playing with sore discs and a pinched nerve, I don't see it happening much now.

Meyers was part of the win against the Suns last night....+7per....made all his free throws and one swish3....a win is a win...glad to see he contributed with Nurk down.

Claussen or Mt. Olive?

Bubbies! There is no substitute.

Bubbies now there is a nickname for ya!!!!

remember when we were debating whether Vonleh was the worst starting PF in the league ? Now we possibly have the worst starter period ! hooray !

Can I get those at Freddy's?

I think some of them carry the Bubbies brand. I get mine at Natural Grocers on 82nd Ave near Winco.

Their sauerkraut also goes well with a bratwurst.

best pickles are homemade in my view....but the bubbies are great if you don't have your own

I agree. My great grandfather and great uncle made their own from an old German family recipe.
