Yes. If he comes back and is healthy, the 10 million is a VERY trade-able number.
Somebody keeps bringing Sly to the meet and greets..but won't admit itDude brings his dog with him to the signing. Getting paid 40 million dollars and you bring your dog with you? That my folks is love.

The WNBA is just for womenI really like this. Meyers is one of these guys that thinks too much, imho. Once he learns to just play - he can be a real force.

4 years 41 million per Woj.
I take SlyPokerDog with me wherever I go. I'll be damned if he doesn't find his way home every time.Dude brings his dog with him to the signing. Getting paid 40 million dollars and you bring your dog with you? That my folks is love.
He's a seven footer that can shoot and isn't a total dud on the glass or on defense. There's no doubt that he has to improve, but as long he doesn't play PF, he has shown the ability to make a positive impact for this team.Really?? $40 million for Meyers Leonard? I'm a little surprised at all the jubilation about this new contract. What exactly has he done in 4 years in Portland to earn a spot on the roster, much less that kind of money???
I was surprised by this bit in yesterday's OLive report:
"Shortly before free agency opened on July 1, Leonard was cleared to resume shooting and he said he's ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation and expects to be fully healed by training camp."

That's a good deal (for the Blazers).
Wonder how much the Ezeli contract may have set (lowered) the bar?
Congrats on being "right" about a player with a 12.2 career PER and a 109 defensive rating on a poor defensive team with a 108 defensive rating. He's a below average NBA player, which is WAY better than I ever thought he would be.I'm sooooo glad to have been right about this one. To everyone who thought we should have dumped him for peanuts because we'd otherwise have to give him a MAX contract: na-na-na-na-naa-naaa!
PER is such a flawed stat. Doesn't capture the big impact Meyers has on floor spacing.Congrats on being "right" about a player with a 12.2 career PER and a 109 defensive rating on a poor defensive team with a 108 defensive rating. It's always convenient when stats are flawed.PER is such a flawed stat. Doesn't capture the big impact Meyers has on floor spacing.
