Meyers Leonard is a good rebounder when he get time to play. This year, he played more than 10 minutes in a game 17 times, according to his game logs. During those games, he rebounded at a rate of 13.2 rebounds per 36 minutes. This is more rebounds per minute than Dwight Howard, Joachim Noah, and Kevin Love. Only three players had more rebounds per minute: Andre Drummond, DeAndre Jordan, and Andrew Bogut.

So given time to play, Meyers seems to be statistically a good rebounder. He may not look like it, but this is what the numbers say.

Well, I think his numbers were inflated somewhat by finishing games in garbage time when neither team was putting much effort into crashing the boards.

But I do agree that he's better than many think.

He's good at catching uncontested rebounds which fly his way. Except that when he fears fouling, he assumes a nuclear posture, Duck & Cover. He crouches, squints, and turns his back to the action.

This stat is completely misleading. Have you SEEN him play in real games? As in not garbage time? The guy is softer than LA's alter ego LaMarshmellow!!! no fucking joke! He makes Vlade look HAM.

The only stats that are legitimate are those that support my opinions and observations.

If rival GMs will buy your argument, I'd definitely be in a selling mood.

I am not a Leonard fan, but I don't think that he is as soft as everyone says. He is not afraid to mix it up. He will get physical. The problem is he is often out of position and off balanced. He is not a good defensive center, but I am not convinced it is because he is soft. But he does have limited defensive instincts..

Actually the games in which he played more than 10 minutes were not garbage time minutes.

The years I was U.S. President, the country thrived.

Which makes me think that they should bring you in as a big man coach, a Meyers specialist.

First, ditch the contacts and get some Rambis glasses. Second, mess up the hair. Third, no shots outside of 10 feet. Fourth, get near the shooter before swatting at the air.

Obviously, the ultimate goal would be to develop the Crabbe to Leonard P and R, making it a household term like "Stockton to Malone".

I'd put him into boxing lessons. He needs to learn to shed fear of being hit. He could hire my ex-wife.

No he is not. No stat can tell me different wither. This is not a hate post either because he is a good outside shooter for his size. But a piss poor rebounder

To be a 'good' rebounder, he'll need to learn the fundamentals of defense, positioning, and boxing out. He's already pretty good at the 'thowing the opponent to the ground' thing. Some think Meyers is a hopeless cause. I'm not ready to throw in the towel on him. I don't think it hurts anything to train him for a couple of more years. I see the potential risk/reward as being very much worth it. If nothing else, he's tall practice fodder.

The stats say otherwise. Sorry. He could lead the league in Reb % and Reb/36, and some posters won't budge from their entrenched opinions. It must get frustrating for those posters when statistics show improvement, yet the opinion doesn't change. It's hard to take those opinions seriously.

It's hard to take someone seriously that won't respond to a thread they were shown to be a liar in.

Leonar_ sucks and is not at all a good rebounder. He is constantly out of position.

Please stop trolling me

I think Leonard's problems start with his balance and coordination. I remember hearing that he grew a lot in HS, and it seems like he's still trying to get used the long limbs.
Boxing could be good for him. Worked wonders for Przybilla.

Now I'm a liar. Let it go, broseph.

I am not sure of some things, whether Elvis is still alive, did Oswalt shoot the magic bullet, why is Olivia Munn considered attractive.....
but I don know Meyers Leonard will not be with this team come training camp next year.

I thought he did MMA? :dunno: Either way, I think there would be a lot of value their. Coordination, balance, discipline, confidence--these things MyLe must have, or a jedi he will never be.

Meyers once went to a Justin Bieber concert in Portland and I think he liked it.

Maybe he ...did.

Yes and its sad. Trolling is one thing, but lying is another

Calling a poster a liar is a personal attack. I've been suspended for it in the past. Apparently Mediocre Man gets to play by a different set of rules, and can call other posters liars sans any punishment.

Jeebus is weeping.

Not an attack if true. Like calling Obama black . You lied n another thread to make another poster look bad and got your ass handed to you. It is what it is

Is a good rebounder one who gets rebounds he should not? Or who gets a high percentage of the rebounds that he should?

Or just a guy who gets a lot of rebounds?

I think that it's probably the third choice in most cases, simply because quantifying the first two is really tough.

Whether he played in garbage time or not, if he's pulling down a lot of rebounds, that indicates to me that he's a good rebounder. Whether we, as fans, think he's out of position or that he is a wuss because of his hair or whatever doesn't change the bottom line.

He's 22. He is big. He can shoot. He's not even that expensive.

Why would we trade him at this point?

Cause you might trick another team into giving you a player who could actually help you in the playoffs for him
