IMO he thinks too much - he doesn't let the game come to him. When he gets the ball on the perimeter the first thing he does is look to pass like the ball has an ebola/aids hybrid.

Seriously? If there was a way to "fix" Meyers Leonard, he or the coaches would have figured it out by now. He's just not very good.
 
He doesn't need Kaman or any of these other big men coaches. What he needs is mother fucking Dale Davis or Chris Dudley.

Forget all the shooting and other bullshit. It just isn't going to work out for you, man, because you are too weak-willed. You'll fuck it up, get down on yourself, and miss the next 10 shots. Low post, midrange, three pointer--it doesn't matter. This problem will never, ever go away. No amount of practice will improve your spine.

Learn to defend, be big and rebound a little. Dunk. Keep it stupid simple and you'll have a job in the NBA for the next decade. Hopefully somewhere else.

Probably good advice. It would be interesting to see him just rebound, defend and pass for one year. Maybe it would slow down the game for him.
 
Even if he just focuses on defense and rebounding, the game's going to get plenty fast when teams force him to defend in space by having his man set a screen for a pick-and-roll.

My problem with Leonard hasn't really been spine or weak will, just that he seems to process the game too slowly, on offense and defense. He doesn't have the ability to catch the ball and immediately understand what he should do next--either pull the trigger, pump and go or move the ball to the next guy. Those quick decisions are almost 100% of what it takes to beat locked-in half court defenses--you need to keep ahead of their scrambling til they break somewhere. Those precious seconds Leonard holds the ball to figure out his next move allow the defense to catch up and the offense is back to square one. That "thinking not reacting" is also what prevents him from getting anything done when he's out in space on defense (as opposed to attached to someone in the post). He's not a bad athlete--he has the tools to be able to hold his own as much as any big man can when isolated in the pick-and-roll. He just has to stop and think and by that point he's beaten.

I don't know if he'll ever process the game on that level. He hasn't gotten better in that regard over his time in the NBA--if anything, he's regressed.

So a fanbase takes no pleasure from watching a guy waste his talent and they aren't supposed to find some fun in bashing him?

Dude makes more than any random 20 posters here probably and we can't bash him? Fuck that.

lol the tread is called meyers the terrible part 2. Like we had too many bad things to say about him in part one so we made a second thread. If you are upset you have no one to blame but yourself. I take great pleasure in finding new and amusing ways to show and express how shitty he is at basketball. I wish this thread got more activity not less.

i am not a meyers fan, I hope we somehow move his contract and ive said things myself that would fall in to the catagorie of "bashing"
I guess what im trying to say is, enough is enough. he's human...let it freaking go. he'll hopefully be gone by next year.

I already tire of people taking their dogs with them everywhere. Letting them climb on them while they're driving. There are often Petco stores by Home Depots so that may be why he had his dog. Who knows?

If I still had my German Shepherd I'd take him with me and sic him on people but he'd be 40 if he was still alive so don't know how bad the damage would be.
 
If Meyers gets the heave ho, I wonder what player will ensure Blazer fans wrath next? I could easily see Aminu becoming the omega of the squad if he lets his game go south. Still I shudder to think what would happen to Nards if he was traded to some place like Philly or NY.
