Ex-Michigan coach Moore in custody in county jail after firing
Sherrone Moore was in custody in the Washtenaw (Michigan) County Jail on Wednesday evening, just hours after being fired as Michigan's football coach for having an "inappropriate relationship with a staff member."
Moore was initially detained by police in Saline, Michigan, and turned over to authorities in Pittsfield Township "for investigation into potential charges."
No charges have been listed. Records indicated he was booked at 8:30 p.m. ET
The University of Michigan fired Moore as its head football coach earlier Wednesday following an investigation into Moore's conduct with a staff member.
"U-M head football coach Sherrone Moore has been terminated, with cause, effective immediately," the school said in a statement. "Following a University investigation, credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member.
"The conduct constitutes a clear violation of University policy, and U-M maintains zero tolerance for such behavior."
Calls to the Saline and Pittsfield Township police departments have not been returned.
Moore, 39, spent two seasons as Michigan's head coach after serving as an assistant coach with the program beginning in 2018.

There have been rumors that the football coach of U. Michigan has been having an affair with a young woman who works for the university.
He denied everything.
A DoorDash delivery driver called the University and told them he delivered Plan B to their football coach.
The university investigated more, found he lied, and has been having an affair with a university employee.
They fired him today.
He then goes to her house with a knife, threatens to kill her and himself.
She calls the police.

I think it's pretty well documented they are more likely prosecuted but I'm not sure more harshly judged when the allegation is this widely distributed.

He's being arraigned tomorrow, so we'll at least know what he's charged with.
