Microfracture for Oden

sucks

makes me sick to my stomach, i really feel for the kid, can't catch a break

guessing his agent is kicking himself right now for not accepting anything that might have been offered in ways of an extension. Glad we didn't trade Joel I guess.

I feel like I want to throw up. This might be the final nail in the coffin of me caring like I do about the Blazers.

Oden, 22, has been sidelined since fracturing his left patella in a Dec. 5, 2009, game vs. Houston. A recent MRI showed damaged cartilage to the surface of his femur, and his current injury is unrelated to the fractured left patella.

Wow. It's all over. Fucking over.

Tough break for us; tougher break for him. There's going to be a lockout and who knows how he'll return from this in 2012-13, or even if he'll be a Blazer.

Wow, I don't know how I'd get through this if I were him. I think a big part of me would want to skip the surgery and just retire with what I made on my rookie contract.

On the bright side, after last year, this year, and the lockout year next year he should be well-rested.

barfo

Is it the same knee or the other knee?

A very star-crossed player. I feel bad for Oden. That probably spells the end of his career in Portland, at minimum.

Following this team gives me more pain than pleasure. And yet, I don't know why I keep on being a fan. Sighhhh

If he comes back it almost certainly won't be as a Blazer, new CBA/looming lockout aside, to even make Oden a restricted FA the Blazers would have to give him a qualifying offer of over 8.5mil. I don't see how they can give him that after this latest setback, which means he'll be an unrestricted FA, and I doubt he comes back to Portland.

can we take a mulligan?

actually scratch that, can we be barred from ever getting the #1 through #10 picks? We almost always fuck it up.

The question should be what's his free agent contract going to be going for with this bomb added to his past, and will we match it (whatever it is)?

The least we can give him is a qualifying offer of $8.5 mil.

Unless he takes on less money because of some loyalty factor, GO as a Blazer (or possibly for ever) = done

So he injured himself in practice or getting up off the coach? How can anyone believe this bum is capable of having an NBA career? I'd offer him a 6 year 12 million dollar contract, just in case his body ever get's is act together.

What would suck even worse, is if he goes on to be a star for another team. But anyway, this is like watching the final turd being flushed down the toilet. Our hopes of a championship, let alone a dynasty, seem really foolish now.

This is piled on top of the Roy situation. When Miller and Camby retire, this team will be a lottery team, but we won't be able to get any free agents with Brandon Roy's contract hampering us.

I feel like we're back to the Zach Randolph days....

I though we might have been through it all, but what a fukkin joke on me, how unreal is this when we've been agonizing over a possible Roy Microfracture or whatever. Good luck Greg, I can't believe this is happening.

How much do you think Cho is kicking himself for taking this job?
