Microfracture for Oden

Ah, I see it in the CBA. Although it says here the 2010/11 qualifying offers were $6.4M for the #1 overall pick from 4 years ago. So I'm not sure how it could be possible with the likely lowering of the rookie scales in 2011/12 and the new CBA how anyone is guessing that will be $8.5M. I'd guess more like $6M-$7M at most.

But either way it's moot. Looking likely that we won't make the offer and will let him fall to unrestricted status then. So makes sense now.

I got the number from this site, they're usually pretty accurate but I'm not 100%

As a little kid I was convinced that my will (I was sending the victory vibes to the team over the TV waves) was what put the Blazers over the top to win the championship... why doesn't it work anymore?

'Cause your vibes are now as fragile as Oden's legs?????

Gramps...

Who the fuck are you, and why this post in this thread? Regulars here have been debating Oden's health for a long time. I thought he wasn't dependable in terms of injury. Doesn't mean I want to gloat right now. I am sick for our city right now.

Couldn't have said it better myself. When will it end?

I don't get it. How did it get damaged again? WTF Blazers?

And even if it never healed during the summer, we couldn't have done this sooner?

This is a huge dissappointment...I am finally accepting the idea of closing the door on the Greg Oden era in Portland. I don't blame Greg, he's just a young kid who happened to be taken with the number one pick. I'd love it if he was able to wear a Blazer jersey one day as a healthy center, but I now accept that is just likely won't happen.

Probably the worse part of all this is certain members of the forum will think they were right about Greg being a bum, or it being his fault.

Anyone that allows this to affect their Blazer fandom needs to find a new team....find a different bandwagon.

Something interesting to notice is that Richard Steadman (my knee guy) in Vail is doing the surgery. Gee, do you think GO's team might have a beef with the Blazers' knee guy in Vancouver?

I'd be willing to bet that GO's reps are not pleased with the way the Blazers have rehabbed him.

ya gotta wonder, can one team have this much bad luck or is our training/med staff partially to blame?

It's puzzling to me that a less than two weeks ago, the Laker announcers were speaking about how good Greg looked (and expected his return shortly) and now he is likely done as (at the very least) a Blazer.

This is tough man! What a blow to our team. Hope they make sure Joel is absolutely ready to come back!

I tried to look back and find where I said it, but I told some of you that Oden is to injury prone and won't do anything. I can't find it cause there is like 104932084 threads. Though, I did say it and will keep looking to prove a point.

It sucks to lose a number 1 pick, the one on my team isn't any better. But I know some of you think Oden is the massiah. He isn't nor will he ever be a legitimate NBA player.

Proof is in the pudding.

I don't understand why people are assuming GO is done as a Blazer.

Agree. It's not Greg's fault he's a giant of a man and was dealt bad knees. The average fan is gonna be down on Greg and thats the exact opposite of what we should do. The guy has got to be about as down in the dumps as an athelete can be right now. He needs our support. You're a fool if you think he wanted his career to go down this path.

I blame it on barfo bringing up lupus twice, which my oldest daughter has.

That, and the guy clearly doesn't even post about the Blazers and lives in the OT forum.

Things have gone downhill since last week, and he's my scapegoat. I'm superstitious like that.

Twice? Really?

Get the fuck out of here.

Please.

That was the same time when Freeman reported that Oden wasn't practicing, and people mocked him for extending the timeline that was never a timeline because of what the Laker announcers had reported.

Perhaps Freeman was correct?

Two MF surgeries....

Fractured patella that's not related to this latest injury...

How can anyone, including Greg, have any kind of hope?

I'm trying to find a silver lining but I'm coming up short. It'll be an interesting time until the trade deadline.

Second. Also, "moderator," I'd like to see your deleted post.

I can only hope and fucking pray that we've hit bottom. It sure feels like the bottom. Of course, knowing this team, tomorrow we're going to hear Wes Matthews broke his foot and is done for the year.

Time to flush the training staff... which is what we should have fucking done after Joel went down.... this is bullshit.

Hmmm, I'd jump on the "It's Barfo's fault" band wagon but I'm just not ready to jump off the Blazers band wagon. :sigh:

The only silver lining is that we have a solid set of young guys for Cho to build around. I still am very happy to have LA, Armon, Batum, Matthews, Rudy and Cunningham on the roster. If they were a few years younger, I'd be equally happy for Joel, Dre and Camby. If Roy can adjust and become even 3/4 the player that he was, then we're still looking like a team that can be on the rise.

Trying to imagine Greg playing basketball for more than 20 games is like trying to imagine the queen of England naked and popping a boner.

barfo posted about lupus a second after I specifically told him that my oldest daughter had it, and then did so a third time. He said that Roy was going to die from it. HAHAHAHAH!

Funny thing is, I don't even think the guy is a Blazer fan. And yes, he is the magnet for my rage right now. Karma is a bitch, as I tried to say earlier.
