Nah I actually think all these guys are respectful of what the previous guys had used. It would be really interesting to hear @Travis Demers take on his approach to this, but I'm guessing you won't hear "BOOMSHAKALAKA" or Wheels' famous "stunned, stupefied, and shocked" or whatever he'd do. Travis is already using his own stuff. Gotta be hard to come up with original things though. Wheels didn't invent boomshakalaka but I don't think that phrase was really tied to any one guy.

I've talked about this quite a bit. I will never use anyone else's catch phrases. It's lazy and disrespectful. I can't manufacture stuff... anything that I use, and something that becomes consistent just happens naturally. I said 'Rip City Winner' after a game - Tim Hardaway Jr. missed a 3 at the buzzer and the Blazers won, and I got a lot of feedback that it should stick, so it did. Things like that.

So what I'm hearing is, you don't go "and what's the way it is" or "and that's the bottom line, because Dame Lillard Said so"?

I think you should let Big John come up with a famous line from a movie/song/pop culture that you have to sneak in every game!!!
…….”Lighten Up Francis”

Some of the other suggestions HCP came up with.

"wait till they got a load of me!"

"No Luke, I am your father"

"I'm Batman!"

"You remind me of a man.
What man?
The man with the power.
What power?
The power of hoo-doo.
Hoo-doo?
You do!
Do what?
You remind me of a man!"

And his proudest suggestion:

"1.21 jigawatts!"

But he keeps suggesting that they're said *during* free throws.

"The cup"

"In the cup"

"To the cup"

"Missed at the cup"

IT'S NOT A FUCKING CUP!

Something about him calling the basket a cup 10x a game is like nails on a chalkboard for me.
"Paint it" was that quote for me haha

I like Travis Demers on the play by play for the radio broadcast....I loved Wheels on the radio ...I think Demers could step in whenever Calabro retires and work well with Lamar Hurd.
Would love those two as a duo. Their energy seems like it'd complement each others well.

The thing is, if Seattle gets an expansion team soon does Calabro bounce?

You should really watch the interview. It's a great interview. Lots of cool inside information. I loved talking with MB. Such a great guy.

Whoever this dude is, he said he ran into a player at a bar (wouldn't say who the player was) but he said he mentioned that it sucks we can't get free agents and the player said "it's not Portland, it's Paul Allen."
We should get him and Mediocre Mans pizza guy together and take down ESPN and Yahoo! Sports

To be fair, anyone that aligns with either side of the aisle doesn't really understand what's going on.

Fall into the game.
