When the Trail Blazers assemble for training camp in late September, one of the key storylines will probably be at backup shooting guard.

Will Barton and CJ McCollum figure to get into the tight competition to be Wesley Matthews' backup on the Blazers' 2014-15 rotation, and if their performances Tuesday in Portland's 91-76 victory over Atlanta in the Samsung NBA Summer League are any indication, it should be a tight race.

I really like that Will is thinking like this:

On one, he completed an alley-oop dunk on a pass from McCollum, reaching back to finish the play one-handed. On another, after teammate Thomas Robinson got a steal, he broke out in transition, but stopped to throw an alley-oop to set up a dunk for Robinson.

"I feel like he worked hard, he got the steal, I got ahead of him and I'm like, I'm not going to lay it up," Barton said. "He worked hard for that, let me reward my big for running and playing big defense for me. Let's get a little excitement."
